The bathroom was fine but not what you would expect for such a high price.

The evening food was amazing and catered for my intolerances. Breakfast was less varied but good ingredients.

The bedrooms are a bit small. But it's a Grade 2 listed building so you wouldn't expect any building work to be undertaken.

Breakfast was good with a reasonable selection. Evening meal was also very good. All the staff we dealt with were excellent.

The bar closed quite early (about 10 I believe) and as the hotel is a little out of Keswick there wasn’t anything else to do at this time other than head to bed. It wasn’t a big issue as I was fairly tired anyway from a day out climbing, but if you arrive late hoping to unwind until 11-12 you might be a bit frustrated. To be fair to the owners though it looks like a family run business and they all do long hours with early starts, so I can understand the reasoning. For the price though, this was a decent hotel that I wouldn’t have any hesitation recommending to others.

The staff were very friendly and the hotel was spacious, with good sized rooms and a nice bathroom.

    Nothing to report.

Rambling and interesting old coaching inn. Very friendly and efficient staff. Good food, including hearty breakfasts and well kept ales. Comfortable bedrooms and a well appointed and cosy residents lounge. All that and there's direct access to the hills immediately behind the inn, leading to 5 Wainwright peaks, including Helvellyn.

For two people my room (although it had a wonderful view of Saddleback)would be very cramped and small.

My double room was very small. Good for one person with a very comfortable bed but would be less so for two people. I have stayed at the Kings Head many times and Keats look forward to the next visit.

Lovely Inn with super friendly staff. Cosy, clean room with a very comfortable bed. I also had a fabulous dinner (Steak and Kidney pudding) and throughly enjoyed my stay at the Kings Head Inn. Very much recommended!

The mattress was a little stiff for me, but all personal preference

Absolutely beautiful building, food was delicious for both breakfast and evening meal, staff absolutely wonderful and so accommodating, the snug with the fire is a warm and welcoming social space, really captures the essence of what a coaching inn would have been like in it's heyday with a modern update, will 100% be back

Only downside was the restaurant was a little bit pricey, but we just went to the nearby towns to eat so it wasn't a big deal

Location was great, right in the heart of the Lake District! Check in was easy and the staff were lovely. The room was really cute and clean, great little view of the mountains too. Bed was really comfy as well.

Good location at the base of a route up Helvellyn. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, food at the bar was tasty but probably worth booking a table as it gets busy with reservations.

Not a full volume of english breakfast as we expect, but it was delicious.

Great location, only 15 min drive from most of the tourist destinations. We also enjoyed dinner at pub and really liked it.
