How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The gardens and outside areas could do with a good tidy, a few flowers, remove weeds and a lick of paint on the troughs.
The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly.

The only issue I had was that the room was cold. The radiator wasn't on. I was only there to sleep so it wasn't too much of an issue. Also, the single room was very small. Not for hanging out in. but still. great for the price.
The room was small but was newly refurbished. The staff were very friendly and the price was excellent for a single room. The breakfast was included, was huge and was cooked very well.

The room was above the bar and overlooked a busy road so it was a bit noisy. Earplugs solved the problem so no big issue for us.
Lovely big room and ensuite with bath, very welcome after a long hike. Attentive young man gave excellent service whilst running the bar and restaurant! Breakfast was fine, no frills but good enough.

ONLY downsides 1 No real ale when I visited and 2 Breakfast too noisy with piped music competing with loud alternative music from the kitchen

All was fine
There was a great menu for both food and choice of drinks, the food was extremely delicious and breakfast took some eating. The two staff copped admirably with a busy restaurant and drinks ordered and we’re very polite and attentive

Could have done with a mirror in the room, that's all!

Breakfast. Had to ask what options there were for yoghurt, pastries, cereal, fruit etc as not on offer buffet style and waitress had to check.

Lack of mirror in bedroom.
Copious English breakfast with service available from 8h00 until 11h00 every day. Lots of easy parking. Very friendly staff. Easy, fast bus ride into Norwich from opposite the hotel and so avoided parking in the City.

Could do with a mirror in the room for styling hair and tv is in an awkward position,could do with being flat on the wall.
Staff were lovely and very helpful, food was excellent, everything was clean, room was nice,and bathroom was too,lovely big bath with great shower over.

Very good nightly rate for the room. Probably one of the best showers I’ve had at any hotel I’ve recently stayed in. Food was very nice and a good price. Unfortunately I didn’t get to sample the steaks as I was travelling for work.

Mattress was too hard. Plus only one bed side table. Which made things awkward. Could hear noise from other guests throughout the night. Not helped by the headboard of the bed on side of corridor wall. Maybe not such a large bed then you could have another bedside table if the bed was on the internal wall side IE side of bathroom wall. Would be quieter too.
The breakfast was good. The staff were professional and friendly. The room was fresh and clean

The breakfast were cooked to perfection and I thoroughly enjoyed it, so much that I mentioned it to the morning manager. The room was clean and well decorated, the en-suite facilities were similar.

would have been nice for the room to be checked before we came.we arrived to a cold room with heating not working correctly. whilst your staff member did his best to solve the problem. this should have been noticed before we checked in..

Not much in Ackle in terms of shops or pubs or cafes . Very sparse town. Heavily built up residential area . Sat Nav directed us to Reedham ferry …so be aware!! The “balcony” in our room was nothing spectacular -just a replacement window . Could do with a couple of chairs to sit on esp when weathers nice . Nothing to dislike about the property except for the location .
