Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaI didn't realize that this place is above a pub, which is ok; however, it wasn't clear from the advertisement. It took me a while to find it because of that. There is nothing outside of the pub points out that this is a "hotel". The name itself is the name of the pub. The room was smaller that it appeared on the photo, and the curtains didn't cover the windows completely.
The rooms were clean and the staff was very accommodating and polite. Since it was a Valentine's day they put a balloon and flowers in our room. That was a very nice gesture.

It was all that I said in the above questions. I know the area very well and I know Ladbroke Grove is a busy road with cars and people but if the window was open it was noisy all through night. I don’t think you can do much about that though . Also the heating was very efficient too.

United KingdomSome amenities mentioned in the booking description were missing ( iron/bathrobes/milk for coffees). The rooms are on the top floor of the pub. As expected, we could hear some noise during the evening, but this was minimal.
Amazing value for money and spotless room with modern bathroom. Everything was newly renovated and clean. Bed was very comfortable and towels were soft. Also a perfect location. Right next to to the tube station and a couple of mins walk from Portobello road.

Hong Kong-The bathroom could have been cleaner. Clump of hair in toilet as if the cleaner had forgotten to flush them down and some small hairs around the sink. -The shower water was not hot enough. -It would have been nice to have a breakfast option.
The room was nicely designed and newly renovated. Looks exactly like pics. Comfy bed. Easy check-in.

United StatesThe place was clean and well kept. It is very small, but we only needed two nights because an AirBNB we had booked was horrible. There were a few minor issues that the staff attended to immediately. The area is busy with the bar below, but on the 3rd floor with windows closed, it was quiet. Very close to the underground, 1 minute walk. That was great. And don't miss the Sunday Roast dinner at KPH. Yummy!
