The picture of the room is not stretched, it's accurate! Had a fantastic stay in a huge room which was very clean, loads of natural light, the bed was also huge and comfortable! Room also included a Nespresso machine Had a warm reception by the Cannyman's team and the free drink on arrival was a lovely touch. Great value for money in an unnecessarily expensive city. Hoping for the same room every single time we come to Edinburgh!

We're both sensitive to light so would have preferred black out curtains to roman blinds.

Great location, especially with parking. Plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, small supermarkets and independant shops and beautiful park all within a few minutes. Can walk into Central Edinburgh in about 30 mins or hop on one of several buses. Nature reserve was a bonus for walks with an amazing view from the Observatory. Room and ensuite decorated to high standard with comp iron bru!

Had booked this due to location of where I was visiting so was really pleasantly surprised when I arrived and got to see room properly. Spacious and great size bathroom. Bath and shower which was great. Lovely wee touchs too. Definitely on my list now for future visits.

It was tough to figure out how to gain access to the parking since the street can’t be turned onto from the main road.

I loved the location, which was a short city bus ride to major tourist destinations. The room was beautiful and the staff was lovely.

The carpeted stair, with narrow steps, didn’t make it easy to descend (felt a bit unsafe). Handrail not easy to grip. I didn’t like that there was no mirror above ‘dressing table’, when drying hair and/or applying make-up. An issue that could by easily rectified.

The room was nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable. Bathroom was modern and I liked the monsoon shower.

Room needs a few simple items: a better hair dryer and iron, a coat rack, outlet adaptors for foreigners. Linens could be updated too. A table or shell in the bathroom to put toiletries. Pillows and mattress are comfy but getting old...

The location, room size and the overall vibe. It was great being away from the center of town. Too many tourists there. Morningside is a great option.

Quieter neighborhood- about 20 min bus into the heart of the city. Adjoining to a local pub that is very welcoming and kind. Huge room, very nice shower/facilities. Comfortable bed.

    No washcloths were provided.

The room was quiet. There was coffee, soft drinks, and granola bars in the room. The towels were large and thick. Extra pillows were provided. I liked the rainshower in the shower stall. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The biggest plus for me was that there was a fan in the closet that we used at night. The restaurant next door was owned by the hotel. The food was excellent and low-priced. We canceled our reservations at another restaurant to eat there again.

These are personal taste things only: The decor was lovely but space suffered due to the oversized (but cool) nature of some of the things in the building and room. Far too many cushions for example, made the room feel smaller and more cramped. We hated the mattresses which were so soft and tired, one of us had pretty bad back pain after trying to sleep on them. Honestly we were glad to leave just due to that. But if you're not fussy about bed then go for it - it's a lovely place.

The location is fantastic. We were checked in by a friendly guy who also booked a table in the busy attached pub and restaurant called the Canny Man's, which incidentally, while pricy, is superb and kinda fascinating and quirky decor wise. The room was very clean, although attention due to the skirting boards maybe. The bathroom was spotless and an amazing shower, very spacious and lashings of hot water. No annoying plumbing noises during the night despite our being on the ground floor and in an old building. We had a little patio outside which would be nice in the summer - although you mightn't like the noise from the pub next door. Not sure it get's much sun due to the height of the buildings around it. Nice basic toiletries supplied, instant coffee and teabags.

A small remark was that it was quite far from most activities in Edinburgh, if you travel by foot.

The check in and check out times were not mentioned in Booking while making the reservation (check in 3pm - check out 11am). We received this information several days before our stay, which was not very convenient. It would have been nicer if there was a small refrigerator and a bigger mirror in the room.

The room was great overall! It had a good size and was very clean. The bathroom was the best part however (spacious with big shower). The room had a private garden, but it was cold and rainy during our stay, so unfortunately we couldn't enjoy it. There was an electric kettle, coffee/tea provided, hairdryer. The hotel has a great location and is around 40 min on foot/ 20 min with the bus from the old town. Many small shops and cafes in the areas as well. The cleaning lady was very kind.
