We didn’t stay for breakfast because we needed an early start but they did offer to provide an early breakfast by we had made prior arrangements to meet my son in Doncaster for brunch 😀

The couple running the hotel were incredibly friendly and charming and so helpful. The pub also has nice meals

Toilet had not been cleaned at all as there was evidence from the last visitor. Sink and bedside coasters not cleaned either showing coffee rings. Had to wait quite a while for breakfast. We tried to book direct only to be told we had to book through booking.com. Then, on arrival, we told that if we'd booked direct, breakfast would've been included, so had to pay extra. This was not consistent within our group.

Room recently decorated and a good size. Breakfast was very generous and cooked well. Friendly staff. Quiet. Good location.

The bathroom wasn’t spotless, this was my only gripe. I could of done a bit more attention, but we didn’t bother notifying anyone because it was ok for the 1x night we’d planned to stay.

The property is situated in a nice village with plenty of amenities. The staff and locals were very polite and welcoming. The room was a good size with a newly fitted walk-in shower. The bed was very comfortable.

Breakfast was not included but I don't eat breakfast anyway! WiFi was free and good quality. I was able to stay for longer than expected which was very convenient. Staff were friendly, approachable and accommodating. The hotel is well placed for lots of local amenities in walking distance.

The bar area is tired and needs some TLC. It would have been good to have the option of a cooked breakfast with the booking, but that wasn't available on the Booking.com platform.

The bedrooms are clean and generally comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating.

The dining room was closed due to a large birthday party which mean we had to go out for a meal. Would have preferred to be informed of this when booking, but we did have a very good and enjoyable dinner at a nearby Chinese Restaurant.

The room was lovely and had good facilities within. For me , the bed was perfect. The owner greeted us and answered our questions to our satisfaction.Also came and spoke to us in the evening, asking how our day went .Very helpful. Thanks

Steep stairs for anyone with disabilities, limited food and drink availability

Very friendly landlord, querky accommodation with friendly locals. Don't be put off by outside appearance.

Did I mention low doorways, mind your head, and on the stairs. Not a 'didn't like' at all, part of the charm of the place. For today's traveller, use the Wi fi in the bar or dining room. Two foot thick walls can play havoc with it in some rooms.

Old school English hotel, oak panelling, low doorways, cozy bar, the place had a real charm about it. Easiest open-air parking, direct off the street. Good hosts.

We had thought breakfast would be provided but after I asked about breakfast on arrival we found out the owner was going away early in the morning, so it wouldn't be possible. It was fine as we went out to a cafe but would have been nice to have been informed before arrival so we could research places to eat. Owners were very accommodating in every other respect though and really friendly.

We stayed in the suite which was lovely and spacious with a little kitchen, sitting area and a bedroom with double bed. As we were staying with 2 children the staff put a double airbed up in the sitting area for the kids. However it did deflate in the night quite a bit. Very central location in the village and free parking onsite.
