Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomI find 10am is a little early to be out of a holiday let, it's a struggle to get up, shower, eat breakfast, wash up, etc and be out on time, even more so for us this weekend after getting back late from celebrating a birthday party with family AND losing an hour due to the clocks going forward.
Location was lovely for plenty of walks in the beautiful countryside. The house was cosy and comfortable, the owners had thought of everything you might need, and the garden was great for the dog to explore in and make friends with the neighbouring goats through the fence. A real home from home, just lovely!

Everything was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had everything you would possibly need. Perfect location and lovely hosts. The patio and garden area were perfect for the children and they loved seeing the goats and sheep.

We liked the cleanliness, it was very comfortable, the owners seemed to think of everything from cutlery for toddlers to puncture outfit for cyclists. If we're ever visiting that area again we will definitely try to book The Lodge again and we will be recommending it to others.

United KingdomThere were no instructions for operating the microwave which was a rather complex one. The saucepans had metal handles which became very hot during cooking necessitating the use of oven gloves. A few more cooking dishes of different sizes would have been useful. The shower in the ground floor bathroom drained very slowly.
This was a repeat visit. The Lodge is a comfortable, welcoming place to stay, located in the yard of Little Alliston Farm it has its own garden which wraps around the property, a patio area with table and seating and 2 parking spaces. It is a quiet, friendly and relaxing place to stay. It provides excellent access to the Forest of Dean and it’s a short drive to Lydney where there are several supermarkets and restaurants. Both my visits were for a week in November and the heating was excellent, the property being well insulated and retaining the heat, there is also a log burning stove. It’s well equipped and exceptionally clean. On the ground floor there is a large kitchen/diner, a separate lounge and a ground floor bathroom big enough to accommodate a wet room style large shower area as well as a large bath. The ground floor bedroom has a double and 2 single beds. A flight of stairs takes you to a double room with an ensuite shower room. The hosts are very pleasant and helpful without being intrusive.
