How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

My only niggle was the tv. Spent ages trying to find normal live free view tv channels. Did not achieve it. Had to go through iplayers. Not everyone wants to watch films or kids cartoons.
Basement room 001 was huge. A nice kitchenette that had everything necessary. Large bathroom. I can’t find a fault. The grounds were lovely. Sat outside in the sun, very relaxing.

Wifi not available at all in our room. As we traveled from other country - no adaptor available (not even for a fee) Room was quite not updated. Our puppy took all dust away under the bed - so they had an extra cleaning in the room.
Lunch was good and staff really kind and helpful. As we were traveling with our pet we appreciated much surrounding green areas.

Third floor....2 dirty mugs left in kitchen sink with lipstick stain ....fridge had old milk stains....bath plug chain snapped and was left on side of bath.....alarm going off in reception when we arrived no reassurance from the 3 staff members looking at panel whilst 3 people were in a queue at check in desk...we have stayed 3 times before a different room each time....whilst we appreciate it is going through renovation there are cracks in walls etc the staff are generally friendly and helpful...no food served after 6pm on Sunday....no nuts available in bar area....no real designated smoking area..
Location is great ....bar area and lounge is nice and comfortable to relax in

The room decoration was a little tired and the bathroom had a little mold.
I was very please with the restaurant, staff and reception staff. I would especially mention my waiter, Harry for praise.

The rooms were really noisy and you could hear everything despite their size.
Beautiful building and great dinner at the restaurant which was super tasty. There are lots of different venues to relax in including a bar, lounge and the restaurant.

Lovely hotel. Spacious family room, with mini kitchen in the lounge area. Beds were rather uncomfortable and the shower room was a bit small and awkward, but the room was otherwise fab. Nice breakfast, very good quality food, but only allowed to select one option from the menu (plus hot and cold drinks), no separate buffet area for cereal etc. Enjoyed a very nice evening meal in the hotel restaurant, too. Very pleasant, helpful staff.

The room wasn't as advertised. Should have had a kitchen which is why I booked it as have small child whose milk bottles needed heating. Also toilet seat hanging off, toilet roll holder broken. No sheets for sofa bed. Room felt forgotten about

Rooms could do with being revamped. They are nice but they could be a lot better.
Love the entrance, the overall look of the hotel inside and out. Rooms are very large and spacious.

The Hotel is 90% there, it just needs some finishing off, who owns the Hotel needs to spend time, 1 hour in every room and look at the walls - there are small marks every where, the room doors need touching up there are paint chips on all of them, the bathroom - grout is missing and never been applied, mastic needs repairing, again marks on walls, tile on shower has drill holes where shower has been moved and not been plugged, shower curtain creased where fitted new without ironing, Table in lounge has marks on it, part of laminate flooring missing. in the reception and hall ways there are paint spots on the floor.
The Hotel Team - Excellent friendly and professional, The Grounds, The building is beautiful and great Location. restaurant food are all very good.
