It was a little confusing trying to find the reception to check in. There's no official desk. Check in wasn't as welcoming as I would have liked, but it was adequate. The lack of reception desk made it a little challenging on the Sunday when I had to leave around 830am in the morning before the Dining room was open (where you check in) and there were no signs on how to actually leave the hotel or where ! I found the door at last. the bed itself was comfortable but the pillows were far too soft and like cream crackers. I used all four of mine for a decent night's sleep. The wifi didn't reach the top floor of the building, so wifi did not work in the room I was in at all. Challenging as I had to use my phone to connect to the outside world...

THe location was wonderful. The views of the bay were outstanding. It was a quiet room with enough space and a good sized bed. The bed itself was very comfortable, and it was easy to regulate the temperature of the room. A delight to stay. I was also grateful for the little bottles of water in the room on arrival. The bathroom was good too, with a deliciously deep long bath for a long proper soak, and the shower was hot enough and powerful enough to be enjoyable. THe food in the restaurant was amazing quality for the price and the service in the restaurant was friendly, polite, efficient, and very welcoming. No complaints there at all.

Incredible continental breakfast - fruit, ham, cheese , pastries, butteries (must try these Aberdeen rolls ) yoghurt and buckets of fresh coffee. Gorgeous room, comfy and big TV, and set an alarm for the sunrise over the Harbour. Facing due East has its bonuses.

Only issue was all the stairs up to the room but the view was well worth the climb.

The room was spotless, comfortable bed, stunning view over the harbour, friendly staff and enjoyable continental breakfast.

Steep and many stairs up to the room and the extremely deep bath to get in to take a shower. Not suitable for disabled on anyone with bad knees!

As is the fashion these days the room was quite dark, with poor lighting options. The coffee machine did not work (and the second one stopped working half way through my cup of coffee) With no kettles in the building!! this was a bit frustrating. Perhaps this needs reviewing. Yes, the pods are a nice touch, but not if they don't work and there is no alternative. It's a bit of a climb up the stairs so travel with light luggage and a travel kettle.....

The location was fabulous, right on the harbour, a sea view room meant lots of people watching from the window. The restaurant upstairs was fabulous with more great views and windows that actually opened to let the fresh air in, this was especially good as we visited during an unexpected heat wave. The food was plentiful and the breakfast was AMAZING with our own selection of breads, hams, cheese, pastries and fruit. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was far too basic, we had to have another one. Also there are no sockets by the beds at all, and doors do not give you any sound protection. The staff was friendly but we had to wait for 40 minutes for the first dish in the restaurant and 20 minutes for a pint of beer.

No wardrobes at all in the room made things a little difficult. The coffee .machine didn't work,kept saying filter needing cleaned. Still didn't work after cleaning filter. Would prefer a good old fashioned kettle!

Brreakfast was fantastic,continental style and lots of it. The location is spot on,looking right onto the harbour.

The breakfast was excellent. It was a lovely way to start the day. The view from our room window of the harbour was beautiful. The staff were without exception first class. They are so helpful nothing is too much trouble.

Wi fi didn’t work, coffee machine didn’t work. No functioning kettle, so helpful staff member brought us 2 cups of coffee and told us we could order tea/coffee from the bar. This wasn’t practical due to stairs and the general busyness and bustle and not wanting to inconvenience staff rushing around. Felt a bit cut off and slightly neglected as a resident at times during our three night stay.

Great location. Our top floor room had stunning view. Cosy and comfortable room. Nice restaurant menu.

We dined there on the first evening and found it had a good restaurant. We came down to breakfast and found all six plates and dishes on our table were dirty. They were greasy, as if they had been washed in cold water. We didn’t bother using their restaurant again, for neither for breakfast or dinner.

It was right on the harbour with parking outside too. Lovely room with view. Nice and clean. Friendly staff. Found out when we were leaving that breakfast was included. Liked everything about the hotel bar for the cleanliness of the dishes in the restaurant.

Not really a complaint but the hotel is a hotspot for socialising and, given the gorgeous weather, lots of people gathered outside every night. It wasn't really a disturbance since I don't mind a bit of noise and listening to folks having a great time ; but if you want a quiet time, then you should consider this. I had read comments about people enjoying going to sleep with the sound of the sea outside- this might be possible in the winter but not in high season, during a heatwave! Also anyone with mobility issues should avoid staying here as the rooms are all located at the top of many steep stairs.

Room was clean, bed was really comfortable and I had a gorgeous view over the harbour. All the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. I ate in both the bar and the restaurant and really enjoyed my meals. Breakfast was continental and was worth getting up for every day, a good selection of fresh fruit, pastries, cheese and cold meats and salmon. I extended my stay due to national train strikes and this was easily accommodated by the hotel.
