Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWifi must be initiated down in the pub and regularly drops out in the room - very sporadic wifi access which is an issue. The hotel is on the main street, so is noisy at night/early morning.
The location is fabulous, right opposite Glastonbury Abbey, walk to Chalice Wells and the Tor, and the village. Friendly and helpful team.

United KingdomThe double bed was two single beds stapled together, and there was a damp patch by the window which was by one side of the bed. For comfort, that was the downside and therefore I think it was a bit pricey.
The location, the helpfulness of staff, the breakfast and service, and beer were all excellent. The staff were resourseful and let me store my festival trolley in a safe place. The pub / bar had a modern decor and had good sized beer garden.

SwitzerlandThere wasn't a possibility to hang used towels so we had to hang them on chairs.
The room + bathroom was functional, good and clean with a lot of windows which led in the light. The bed was clean and comfy and the bathroom facilities were clean. Overall a good expirience.

United KingdomCould be bit cleaner wasn't filthy but bit dusty shower door hanging and wouldn't stay closed bit tiny ensuite to get in and out but we are skinny people and was one night stay so it was ok for us. Food could be better bit touch and go depending on what you order but again I feel price reflects this but in order to keep guests in rooms with you food really needs improving. Chips were awful steak was ok mine was bit rarer than I'd asked but was ok for a tenner but rather pay bit more and have a chef? Drinks menu was totally rubbish and we only had 1 drink there. Could do with more information on check in as one guest kept bothering my companions in another room giving them his rubbish as if they were staff even tho they told him didn't work there. Luckily he dealt with my sister and not me as that really irritated me. He also asked me if I worked there I said no and just walked into my room. We had one night and had to pander to him I'm unsure why he didn't just go to the bar and bother the staff. Also we had a key to side door but someone kept putting latch on (probably same idiot that was bothering my sister) which meant we had to keep walking through the pub and at one point band was playing and it was really awkward as we kept having to walk past them to get to our room. However all that aside I would stay here again as location is perfect but probably only for few nights. Again Price is key.
In middle of town so central easily able to walk to Tor, Chalice well white springs etc. Abbey literally across the road. Goddess centre down road. Room was ok good price. This is key here if you want a cheap stay in middle of everything, perfect. I was happy with what I got for the price . If your using public transport bus stop literally outside door. Perfect if you don't drive as everything in walking distance. Lady that first greeted us was lovely and allowed us to store our bags as our coach got us there hour before check in. Overall fairly nice little pub but maybe go elsewhere to eat and maybe not if your a bit OCD for cleaning. Got to be said though the bed was very comfortable and I actually slept really well and I do suffer from insomnia and struggle to sleep away from home so that was amazing! Would stay again just for the bed! Some fairly decent towels too nice and fluffy. Pillows were even great too. Staff were nice and helpful but seemed a bit rushed/busy at times.

United KingdomThe bathroom was probably the smallest we have encountered when staying away. There was live music in the bar one evening which was loud in our room, mind you it didn't bother us too much.
Great location right in the centre of Glastonbury. The Abbey and Tor could be seen from our window. The room was of good size, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. The food in the bar was nice and very reasonably priced.

United KingdomThe Wi-Fi was a little temperamental to log in to. It wouldn’t let me login and connect from my room but was fine closer to the bar, and then I was able to use it in my room thereafter. Breakfast was well cooked and tasty but there weren’t what I would call ‘continental options’ other than toast/breakfast sandwiches. There were vegetarian options on the fry-up though, which was welcomed!
Very friendly and helpful staff and the room was spacious and clean with a gorgeous view of the Tor and Abbey. Mattress was a little firm but that’s just personal preference! The room was quite warm but a fan was provided, as was a hair dryer and ironing board and the usual tea/coffee making facilities. The Market House is in the centre of town and, as it says on their website, they do have music until about 11pm most weekends and some weekday evenings, (and a few outside tables both front and back), so it isn’t the quietest of locations. However it’s super convenient for visiting Glastonbury and seeing the sights.

United KingdomIt would be unfair to say the noise level from music could be less. It is the nature of a pub to be noisy. You were for warned that it was noisy at weekends. It was noisy on a Wednesday night. Being on the main road things got going as early as 5.30. May have been a little later. Deliveries were being made, traffic was on the hoof, and the buses were loud. It was a new experience for me.
The best thing was the friendliness of the staff. It was easily accessible to major sights to see at Glastonbury. Also the bus stop back to BTM was on your doorstep right outside near the pub. I had visions of having to walk a long way with heavy luggage. It was a relief to be able to book up for only one night. Most places seem to have a limit of 3 nights.

United KingdomIt seems the bar staff are the reception to those visitors to Market House who have booked accommodation overnight or for longer. So every person has to collect there keys form the bar area it seems . It is noisy with most of the accommodation being over the bar area and although I wear two hearing aids I found it noisy as I could hear the music from the bar as well as the TV with football. The door hinges were creaking both to the upstairs accommodation and to the room I had for Wednesday night. The bathroom window did not close properly and so the bathroom seemed cold after a warm shower.
It was very conveniently situated in the centre of Glastonbury.was the main reason for booking. The room was clean and tidy with essential kettle and tea coffee cups etc. The bed was comfortable.
