Room didn't have much of a view - brick wall with windows across a narrow passage. Very loud extractor fan in bathroom - but could be easily switched off. We managed to get a space in the car park, but these are very limited.

Very welcoming and helpful staff - particularly at breakfast. Breakfast itself was very good - good selection of cold and hot, well-cooked, and there was a v tasty spiced omelette on offer - highly recommended! Complimentary drink in bar on evening of arrival. Hotel v near centre of town - great location.

Beware of the number of steps to get to your room if your mobility is limited. There is no lift. This did not worry us, however.

Note that there is no lift, so if stairs are an issue, get a room on the ground floor. The secure free carpark only has room for 8 cars, so we parked in a public car park about 5 minutes walk away. Free parking overnight, but coins needed from 8am, unless you get lucky and there is a space come free in the car park.

The location is close to the centre, whilst still being quiet. Our room was on the back of the building so away from the road at the front. The building is made up of several knocked into one, so a bit of a warren of corridors, but the room was very nicely decorated. We did expect a bigger bed, but that is because we had forgotten that UK Beds are generally smaller than on the continent. A King bed at around 150cm wide is narrower than our standard double back home. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were very attentive. Plus there was a welcome drink at the bar, great.

It’s an old building , beautifully refurbished but quite a few stairs and steps.

Fab city location with a private car park , bonus ! Very helpful staff , very comfortable room with excellent air conditioning (Nelson room ).

Late check-in. With delay and cancellation of SWR train from London, I could arrive there very late. But they opened the check-in counter until I arrived. And the location is very good. The bus stop to Winchester is a minute away.

Breakfast was expensive. We would have liked the option to have an uncooked light continental breakfast.

Only one minor downside was not enough storage space for two adults but it might've been just in our room and in a way it is understandable as it is an old style building.

My partner and I stayed there in March 2024. Beautiful hotel in a central location. Complementary drink from the bar on the first night. Very comfortable bed, bath over shower, which was great for relaxing after long walks. Delicious and affordable breakfast with plenty of choice ( we paid in advance when booking, which was cheaper but can be paid for on arrival).

The room was quiet , clean, with a v comfortable bed. Easy parking, helpful staff, a lovely free glass of wine in the bar. Also, breakfast was great, loved the fresh cooked masala omelette - delicious. Great location too. Would come again.

The hotel carpark is small so you need to find parking elsewhere but there are lots of options to choose from.

From start to finish our stay was great. The staff are so helpful and friendly. We were checked in very quickly and efficiently by a very helpful staff member. She gave us really good advice on parking during our stay too. The bar staff were equally as friendly and the bar had a really nice atmosphere. We booked a standard double, which is fairly snug but very comfortable and perfect for our 1 night stay.

The only negative comment I would say is the bathroom ventilation was very loud.

Had a lovely stay, the room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable too! The staff were super friendly and had a complimentary drink upon arrival. What a treat !
