Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomWithout requesting it we were given an upgrade for our room. The size, decor and comfort of the room was outstanding. Special mention for the cleaning staff who were excellent. Location was outstanding. It was in walking distance of most of the main tourist attractions as well as close to pubs, restaurants etc.

United StatesI did not care for the “Black Taxi” tour that was recommended. As Americans, it was too in depth for us and difficult to understand the guide’s wordage, because of his accent. Also, it was very depressing to hear of the violence that occurred at every turn. However, as far as not liking the recommendation of the tour, our stay was amazing.
Fabulous hotel, one of the best I have stayed! An extremely large room, basically a suite, exquisitely furnished in Art Deco. The grand room is stunning with wonderful food, but our favorite was the cocktail lounge. Expect an extensive menu of amazing drinks and fabulous bar food in a posh environment. Loved it!!

United Kingdomthe breakfast menu was very well planned. However, the dishes were not the same standard of cooking as the evening meal. For example, we ordered french toast with maple syrup and bacon. The bacon itself was soft and not crispy the toast was powdery. :-(

This stay was a birthday gift for my daughter who stayed with her sister. They work in a hotel so are not easily impressed but they were blown away by the service and comfort at the Merchant, and they particularly enjoyed the thermal area. They also thought the breakfast was superb.
