When first entered the room it had a strong smell of smoke but was fine when opened the window for a bit and got use to it.

Liked the location is good. Very easy to get to shops, arcades, restaurants and the beach. Friendly staff that welcomed us into the merlin hotel. Good value for money

The location is great for the Winter Gardens, Tower and town centre. The hosts were very welcoming and room was clean and ready on arrival.

Was advised Wi-Fi was complimentary and would be avaible this wasn’t the case, drunk mam banging for nearly hour screaming and kicking door to be let in,

The rooms it’s self was alright despite been quite cold and not actually having a socket for the heater provided. The WC wasn’t great the fact there was no hand basin. The staff was very rude and very unwelcoming:

The room was dirty, marks all over the walls and dirty handprints, grease marks all over it. There was a large gap at the bottom of our door which I could fit my hand under, the door handle was broke,the door looked as if it had been kicked it a few times. The base of the bed was torn. The tv didn’t switch on no remote control, there was no soap either in room or shared bathroom. We couldn’t use the bathroom as it was filthy and blocked. Didn’t knw where another bathroom was had to wonder all up and down stairs to find one. Glad it was only 1night .

Tv was not working whole trip, beds need to be changed the bed was very used and sunk when laying on it and uncomfortable. Very noisy. From conversation has recently been taken over so i think it will get better

We didn't like peoplw night time walking drunk and shouting. It was so noisy 🙄 and was scarex to sleep. That place its not for family. It was smelling place from alcohol and cigarettes. Never go again

We stayed in number 10 and the main issue was that the bed needs to be replaced immediately. You are practically sleeping on springs and they feel as though they are coming through the mattress. Further to this the actually bed and the supporting base under the mattress is broken causing the bed to not be supported adequately and leading to a really uncomfortable sleep. Another issue is perhaps the number of plug sockets available in the room. They are all near the door which makes it difficult when wanting to use appliances if in bed. The positioning of the bed means you can’t access the cupboard to store things in and the door to the room is really inconvenient to the bend in the wall. I understand it sleeps for but realistically the double bed should be a single or another set of bunkbeds to allow the rooms speakers to be used better.

For the price of the property you can not expect a high level of service or quality. I think the location is very good and handy. The staff where characters and really helpful although there may have needed to be a bit greater organisation as it left me and my party a bit precarious to some of the conversations that occurred between them. The communal shower was warm and provided a nice shower. The tiles could do with being cleaned in greater detail.
