How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The carpets on the stairs and the windows in room 10 need some maintenance/replacing. We were out most of the time, so not a huge problem.
Its location close to the centre of Cambridge.

Our room looked at the main road which was a bit laud because the windows are quiete old but for 1 night stay was a great value. The mattress was great but the bed frame was super noise even when u just moved a bit.
Great location, nice little room, toiletries, hair dryer. I would go back again.

The carpets need a deeper clean
Everything was very easy and nice. I had to do a late self check-in and it went pretty smoothly. The bed was very comfortable and the room quite clean. The amenities and the strong hairdryer are a great plus.

Very squeaky bed and walls were thin so could hear room next door talking. Bathroom clean but very small, hard to move around

The metal frame bed was a little squeaky. There was some light dust on the skirting boards and picture frames. My allergies were not triggered even with not being able to have a window open as we only had patio doors in our room. The room was very hot on arrival due to the radiator being full on, but we turned these down, and the heating went off during the night, so it wasn't too uncomfortable.
Lovely friendly reception staff. The room and bathroom were compact but functional. The shower was lovely and powerful. I found the mattress firm but not hard and comfortable. The bottle of water and toiletries are a lovely touch

- the windows are pretty old ( which has its charm ofc) but you can hear well what's happening outside. it didn't bother me because I sleep well but might be a problem for some otherwise, everything was super good
+ not far away from the station and the city center +The hotel has a kitchen/ dining area which is super useful if you don't want to go to a restaurant. there is a fridge, a kettle, some coffee, and a stove. +you can leave your luggage after the check-out +the staff is friendly, they even gave me an adapter for 3 days!

towel rail touching person using toilet causes burns! the ensuite area was too small, only enough room to turn around from a standing position people using rooms 11-20 appeared to misunderstand use of keypad as they tried to use front door key and disturbed us in trying to get in..

The narrow staircase if you have a heavy suitcase... but they warned about it in advance. Very, very warm - but I just opened the window.
Great location, superb bed (although very squeaky), wonderful Ukrainian girl who checked me in gave great recommendations for one day in Cambridge and I followed all her advice. Superb kitchen if people want to cook. Quiet.

I stayed for a about a week and the bed wasn't very comfortable to sleep in for several nights in a row. But if it's for a weekend is okay.
The place is very well located. You can get to the city center with a 10min walk. The kitchen is well equipped and offers tea and coffea. The room was clean and had amenities. It was also convenently close to the bus stop back to London.

En suite bathroom had what it needed, but was a bit cramped. On departure, key return box was a pain to get the key in.
Small room, but perfectly adequate for one night. Very good standard of cleanliness. Fresh towels in the cupboard in the room. Comfy bed.
