Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWhen we arrived the place looked completely abandoned and the front door was closed. We had to wander around the building to find someone to ask how to get in. We eventually checked in okay. The rooms are very outdated and the bathroom needs redoing. The mould in the shower was horrible.
The hotel is 15 minutes from the Glasgow airport and it's just off the main road and very easy to get to. The car park is nice and big. The rooms are fair size. The beds are very comfy and linen clean and soft. The place looks run down but the price for the night is appropriate. I probably wouldn't want to stay more than 1 night

United KingdomThere was no record of our booking at check-in, luckily they did find a room for us. The room was at the front of the hotel which is based on the busy A82, with traffic passing all night, so noisy. There was a kettle, but no tea or coffee to make a drink. We had our own, so not too much of a problem for us. The hotel needs some updating.
The room was clean, but very basic.

Bath shower shield falling apart. Tea making facilities but no kettle. Road traffic noise was quite bad from passing vehicles.

United KingdomThere is road noise in the rooms at the front of the hotel. It is still being upgraded, and there are some things needing completion.
It was a budget, enroute stopover, and as such was a gamble. It was good to see that renovations were underway, and we enjoyed a new shower room. The owners and staff are very kind. The restaurant is vegetarian and alcohol free. We did enjoy a lovely breakfast. The owner kindly gave us a 2nd choice of room in the cottage to the rear, away from road noise.

United KingdomWe had to ask for another bath and hand towel. There was no marmalade for the toast. We also had to make sure the water from the shower didnt spill over and flood the bathroom. The toilet seat would not stay up. The room was so cold we had to have an extra duvet as the one on the bed was a summer one. We borrowed a couple of hot water bottles from our daughter. The heating didnt work. The first electric heater had a dent so we got another one. Which was slightly better. The tv didnt work altho we asked several times for it to be fixed. The hotel was locked up for most of the time. It was a case of trying to get them on the phone.
The location was ideal as we were near family We were allowed our dog in the bedroom and that was a big plus. Not many hotels seem to allow that Not much selection for breakfast The staff did their best to make our stay a good one. Ate in the reataurant for breakfast and was satisfied. i had toast in the bedroom and was satisfied.

United KingdomThe place was all closed down we actually thought we had been scammed. The lady came over from another building and unlocked front door and showed us to our room. The room wasn't very clean with hairs in the bath shower screen hadn't been cleaned. Was supposed to be a deluxe room but there were holes in the walls and pen marks everywhere. TV was small and the furniture was old. Nothing deluxe about it. If it was advertised as a budget double would have been better. Breakfast was included but we didn't actually have anything as we weren't Hungry but did smell good.
Easy to book. The lady was very friendly.

United KingdomRooms in desperate need of upgrades - holes on the walls from previous lamps/fittings, old paint, and not been cleaned for a while (one of the rooms even had "clean me" written with a finger by some previous guests on the shelves). Rooms at the back of the hotel nice and quiet, but rooms next to the road are very noisy due to the traffic. TV was not working in one of the rooms - went downstairs to speak to someone, only to find that the doors were already locked and no-one was in. No food during a day in the hotel, but there are options nearby.
Price was good for two rooms, and the rooms were quite spacious, there is parking on site and the hotel is directly next to the main road between Glasgow and Dumbarton/Balloch. Bathrooms were recently upgraded by the looks of it, and they were looking much better than the rest of the room.

United KingdomLocation not good if coming from Erskine Bridge owing to being on a dual carriageway with no right turn access.Could take about 10 mins to find a route to get on the Glasgow side to access property. A blind on the bathroom window ---although frosted glass ---would have afforded more privacy. We had to ask for soap and plugs for the bath and washhand basin which were not very effective. Requires an upgrade to provide evening meals.
Room was ok,;beds comfy. Breakfast not bad. The only staff member we saw was pleasant and helpful.

United KingdomDespite a message at the time of booking saying we were bringing our two dogs and could we have a ground floor room in the farmhouse (easier for letting the dogs in and out) we had been allocated a no dogs allowed room in the main building. They found us a first floor room in the farmhouse but there was no milk and by the time I went across for some (around 9pm) the main building was locked up and in darkness. There was only one set of towels for two people too.
We’ve stayed here a few times before to break our journey down from Skye to Yorkshire. It’s convenient as right on the route into Glasgow and our dogs stay for free.
