The room was very small, very warm and the toilet door didn’t shut properly. Not great when sharing a room.

The communal corridors were a bit tired and would have benefited from new carpet.

The bedroom was beautifully decorated with a a large en-suite.

Pillows just a tad too soft for me, lighting a little dim in room but all in all good value and decent evening meal and breakfast + happy hour :-)

Was slightly put out that I was awoken at 5.30am by someone emptying glass bottle bins! Wasn't too much drama and got back to sleep. Unfortunately iplayer didn't work on the TV and the Internet reception wasn't amazing. However I didnt mind too much and these things didn't have a huge impact on what a nice time I had.

Loved the comfortable bed, the lovely big bath and the food was excellent. Slept really well and had a very chilled evening. Was really good breakfast included in the morning and friendly staff. Close to the centre and near local attractions and shops. Really nice place and would definitely stay again.

The stairs and corridors smelt pretty bad but luckily the bedroom did not! The carpet is not comfortable and very hard! And though the location is good the traffic noise was quite loud in the morning! Not relaxing or restful!

Lovely bar and friendly staff and the room was nicely decorated and spacious.

Unfortunately poor drainage and that’s not the fault of the staff or owners.

I booked this for my elderly parents, my mother has had a stroke previously and I advised the team at the Minster Arms, they could not have been more accommodating and helpful, Hannah and her team really went the extra mile to ensure they were both comfortable and looked after.

I loved the atmosphere, parking across the rd. the lovely touches such as a t pot, different shower was, hair wash etc. better to put in details there’s a hair dryer. And also put on inner front door that it’s the way to both the rooms with names cos it’s difficult to find!

No dedicated parking meant an additional cost to pay for parking - although a very short walk from hotel. Staff were friendly but seemed stretched in the bar and restaurant on Saturday evening and there was a shortage of ice in the bar for drinks. Expected larger bed in the room based on booking description.

Food was excellent (Dinner and Breakfast) Bar and restaurant had a good atmosphere and it was a good venue for rugby followed by dinner. Room was clean and had everything we needed with the exception of an adapator for charging a phone.

Last flight of stairs would be tricky for someone with mobility problems. Otherwise, nothing not to like. Shame we couldn’t park on site but car park opposite was very reasonable.

Very comfortable room, lovely bathroom with walk in shower - all spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed with good quality linen. Nice white fluffy towels. Good range of tea and coffee etc to make yourself and mineral water provided. Nice and warm in the room, good sized TV with lots of channels and Netflix if you wanted it. Breakfast was lovely.

Old building so narrow stairs up to the top floor would be a bigger issue for anyone with any mobility issues.

Breakfast was made to order which took longer but was excellent. Room was really nice but up in the eves so being 6ft2 had to be carefull in some areas of the room.

The grouting round the shower is black and yellow needs replacing . No biscuits for you to have with your tea and coffee.. shower did not drain very well .. the stairways need repainting and carpets cleaned as stained .. the toilet handle needs looking at as hangs down .. smells of dog in the stairwell ..

The rooms were lovely and the bedding and pillows were sumptuous .. lovely product too ..we would stay again.. staff were lovely

The lighting in the room was rather dim, especially given the dark walls and ceiling. Would benefit from another mirror in the bedroom where you might use a hairdryer.
