Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI was up on the top floor and the access was a little tight but not impossible. Slight drip from shower when off, which I reported on check out. Was lucky with parking, just over the road.
Contact from the hotel was good and pleasant. Had a late check in, which was handled well. Bed was comfortable, good shower. Breakfast hamper was impressive!

United KingdomLast year breakfast was in the restaurant, this year a continental basket. I preferred eating in the restaurant with unlimited coffee and somewhere to sit. I also didn't like that there was nobody there in the morning, to hand the key to or say goodbye.
We stayed at The Minister Arms in 2022 for our wedding and wanted to stay again for our anniversary. The room was superb and gorgeous, stunning roll-top bath! The staff ensured we were able to have the same room. Easy parking across the road and within walking distance of the main square.

United KingdomThere was no blinds/ curtains in the room so was woken up early by the light! Also, the pastries in the breakfast hamper were stale.

United KingdomIt looked a bit tired. Main suggestion would be to not bother with second rate breakfast in hamper and just tell all guests that there are great venues 5 minutes walk away.
Friendly and welcoming staff. Room was well appointed, comfortable and everything worked.

United KingdomRoom not cleaned well. False eyelashes in sink from previous guest and set of false eyelashes behind soap dispenser. Sash windows covered in cobwebs. Fresh milk supplied in the breakfast hamper, however, as per pur previous stay, the room was very warm, so, milk had gone off by the morning. Luckily, we had brought some long life milk from previous experience
Staff were friendly and bed comfortable

United KingdomBreakfast was left outside our door. Cereal, pan au Chocolat, fruit juice and spreads. No milk for cereal or anything to put spread on. Couldn't find anyone to ask question as door to bar area was locked. Had to leave key in the door and leave without officially checking out. On the plus side the bar menu was good and staff were friendly. Could do with more guidance on breakfast routines and provision as not to raise expectations of customers.
Nice welcome.

United KingdomAppreciate there may not be high demand all week for accommodation but missed cooked breakfast. In itself, breakfast hamper was fine, just not my preference.
Just an overnight stay. The room was okay, and the facility was walking distance to town. Had good sized beer garden and parking across the road next to a wee pub.

United KingdomWe stayed in the burgundy room, the room was lovely the only problem was the smoke detector over the bed had a green light next to it and this kept us awake all night. Far too bright couldn't so was up early and set off home, early night tonight absolutely shattered because of this.
Nice place good location, staff were polite.

United KingdomThe room floor covering was hessian which is nice to look at but hurts your feet when walking on it, fortunately I had slippers with me. The kettle didn't fit under the sink tap, i had the use the cafeteria to fill it. The temperature for the shower was okay for me, which was lucky as the hot/cold adjustment wouldn't turns. A cold breakfast was served by putting a hamper basket with cereals, fruit juice, milk and a pastry on the floor outside the door. Absolutely NO parking here and no staff other than bar staff. No where and no one to leave the room key with in the morning, so left it in the room. Very disconcerting.
The room was clean, nicely styled and it was peaceful. Nice bathroom, plenty of clean towels, coffee etc. Very comfortable big bed.

United KingdomThe room was slightly tired on the edges. There were stains on the counterpane, the shower was slow to drain & the toilet needed bleach. I also felt the rooms were dark & it was difficult to apply makeup. This said, my stay was comfortable.

United KingdomI had no idea where I was supposed to leave my key or where to checkout so I just left it in the front door cause I was locked out and the key wasn’t opening the door, and I didn’t know how to fill up the kettle because it was too big to fit in the sink. I just found out there was a key safe outside the pub but I didn’t see the message until now
It was cosy and the breakfast was nice, great location too, Very close to the town centre. It was quite as well :)

United KingdomThe continental breakfast was provided in a hamper outside our door the night before, and was fine, but it would have been nice to have been in the restaurant sat at a table. It would also have been nice if the pub was open at lunchtime, and a more varied menu would have meant we would have chosen to eat there in the evening too. Although the room and bathroom were clean the toilet was badly stained.
The price was reasonable and, although it was quite noisy because if the roundabout close by, the bed was very comfortable and room a good size.

United Kingdomvery soft bed and pillows. Noisy traffic as it’s on one of the the main junctions in Wimbourne Minster. Some staining on the carpet and bed throw. The bathroom needs a bit of attention to cleaning especially round the shower and drain. The shower floods over the tray if your not careful and there’s grout missing in the floor tiles. The toilet flush is lousy.
Mid range accommodation above an old pub. Chosen because nothing else available on a bank holiday half term weekend.
