The bathrooms were a little unclean, particularly the showers. And one of the shower heads actually broke off the first time it was touched. Also, lots of stairs!

The location is superb and the bar is great. The staff are really welcoming and friendly both in the hotel area and the bar. We got pretty much what we paid for.

Shower in room 21 kept going hot and cool. Not a complaint as this is a very central hotel and it’s to be expected, but don’t book here if you are looking for peace and quiet.

    Really central, quirky little place

No lift in the hotel (we stayed on the top floor which wasn't easy for my parents to walk up and down) but the building is old so assuming they cannot put a lift in.

The staff were all friendly, and always smiling when I communicated with them. Breakfast was nice and the decor in the breakfast room and seating area were nice. I like the old feeling of the hotel and the location was faultless. The separate bathroom was clean. Tea/coffee available in hotel room. Wifi worked fine in the room we stayed in. Surprisingly quiet during the nights considering its location.

Not at all, I have no complaint on the price and location, as well as the quality services provided. Would love to stay there in my next trip to Manchester.

The location is very good and convenient for those just travel for one day. Very close to town centre and can walk to the AO Arena for my show in 8 minutes. Staff is very nice and helpful all the time when I stayed.

Slightly bothered by the creaking noise of the floors when you walk but understandable as it’s an old building.Otherwise,I have no other concerns.

Very convenient location.Very near Manchester Victoria and few minutes walk to the city centre.Staff were all friendly. My room was in a corner in the 2nd floor(or 3rd.I’m not sure) so it was quiet even if there was a bar downstairs.Bed was very comfortable.Great complimentary breakfast too.

The kettle cable was too short to reach the designated electric point. The room was very cold. No long mirror or hangers, ok for 1 or 2 nights but not for much longer.. Manchester prices expensive compared with quality small hotels in central London.

The location of this hotel is very good being right in the centre next to the cathedral and a minute walk from Selfridges and Marks and Spencer. Exchange Square tram stop is also a few mins walk being next to the Arndale Centre. I had a single room with a tiny old shower "room" (cupboard) with a minute basin. I didn't bother showering. My room had a fabulous view of the cathedral. I did have breakfast which was ok.

The breakfast set up wasn't great. No cutlery, no sausages or hash browns and 4 slice toaster took an age to cook bread. Staff made me feel like I was a hindrance asking for hashbrowns and cutlery. When sausages came out they looked uncooked. Even though there was about 6 people waiting. Tables weren't cleared so we had to clear it ourselves.

Location perfect, 15 min walk from Man Picc & for Peter Kay at the AO arena (10-15 mins walk). Had food off the menu when we arrived, bit of a wait (45 min) but was tasty and decent value for money. Room had great view of cathedral. Bedroom nice, bed comfy, bathroom clean. Floors very squeaky though!

The shower was rubbish - a halfhearted spray down the back from a limp showerhead and the doors didn't close properly. The Q&A on booking.com repeatedly said that the breakfast is served from 7:30am but when I arrived I found it was actually from 8am. 7:30 already seemed quite a late start! I asked on arrival but there was no chance of anything early.

Unbeatable location - extremely convenient for Manchester Victoria. Clean, comfortable, well furnished, and my room had a beautiful view onto the cathedral with a blossoming cherry tree.
