I guess if i was trying to think of something, its better when you're given 2 keys if you've put that 2 adults are staying. Fair play it was me and my son, but if i stay somewhere with my wife sometimes **** happens.

The lady on reception when I arrived was very pleasant and helpful, the room was nice, no criticisms at all.

There was an intermittent problem with the hot water in one room (but worked absolutely fine in the other room that our group had).

Nice big bright room, very clean. Staff were very friendly and accommodating- we were able to check in early as our rooms were ready. Breakfast was substantial with a good range of items.

Only one pillow per person. Had they been of good quality would possibly have been sufficient, but they were not and offered little support.

    Spacious rooms, quietness, continental breakfast.

We would have like an extra pillow each.

Our room was quite spacious, clean and comfortable . The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice and friendly service. The location was perfect for visiting the city as it was quiet but had a regular bus service with a bus stop right outside the hotel. Parking was free and safe.

The outside appearance of the hotel was untidy and shabby,it looked like arriving at Fawlty Towers. The Room was clean and tidy and comfortable however it was really old looking and tired and needs updating urgently, there was a few damages in the room, cracked window glass, bathroom taps missing from top of the taps, But the Room was clean and tidy.

Free parking for the duration of stay. Bus stop directly outside hotel for Liverpool city centre, also it is walkable from hotel to city centre.

I still don't think £100 a night is a reasonable charge for this place. The included breakfast is continental and of poor quality. The lighting in the room is very dim, meaning that with all lights on, it still has a very dingy feel to it. Coupled with the wallpaper peeling off the walls and the worn rug at the foot of the bed, it certainly didn't have the classic vibe we were expecting.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you to central Liverpool in around 10-15 minutes (for £2) Lovely white fluffy towels were provided.

    Not applicable.

We have stayed many times at the Mountford Hotel, Liverpool. It is ideally situated for our needs where the staff are always helpful and polite. The rooms are always clean and comfortable and there is usually a parking space available for our car. There is a "continental" style breakfast which is very nice.

Hate to leave negative elements of a review but feel it would really make a difference if some of these things were addressed. The breakfast was disappointing; jar of original Nescafe and hot water, budget croissants that had the texture of cardboard; there were other items but would rather have less choice but quality food or no food at all. I didn't go back for breakfast second day. No shower gel or hairdryer (site said you got one but I hunted everywhere). I don't expect to have to drag all that with me to leak in my luggage. It's a basic need. There's a big step at the front door I fell down which isn't adequately highlighted on the floor. I've read other reviews that said the bed was comfortable but mine wasn't. Mattress was budget too. This hotel has the bones and the staff to make it a really special stay but the food and room facilities just let it down a little. A bottle of shower gel/shampoo and lovely local bakery croissants and nice coffee would have taken this hotel to the next level and made my rating a 5 star.

Staff were really friendly, professional and welcoming and the building was beautiful. Lovely antique furniture and bar was very quaint. Lift was really useful after a long day walking.

    Nothing really to say here

All things met our opinions of the hotel. It was ideally situated for us for walks into Liverpool it self and there where also good areas to explore, especially the many locally situated parks. The room, food and cleanliness met a good standard and staff where friendly and warm.

All the hassle checking in with extra security deposits, waiting for ID to be copied etc is a bit too much after a 7 hour journey when you’re so tired and just need to rest. It’s far less convenient than usual when booking through booking.com. This plus the two people eating breakfast in their pyjamas, one of them holding a very loud and intrusive video call all the way through breakfast, would definitely put me off staying here again.

The price is good and it was a great location for where I needed to be. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly.
