How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A fair distance out of the main town. Especially after a long days walk, going up the hill felt like a real trek!

Very clean and nicely presented room with lovely views across the bay. The bed was a little too firm for our taste. It was good for our purpose, which was for a brief one night stopover.

Unable to get WiFi in the room at all (would connect then disconnect even though it seemed to have a WiFi extender box in the room) but had excellent WiFi directly below our room while in the pub for the evening.
Cozy room, pub downstairs convenient; nice shower pressure etc; it was also very quiet (realize that on music nights, that would be different)

The light bulb in the bathroom wasn't working, it didn't affect me and it was too late at night to do anything about it when I discovered it.
Very friendly welcome from bar person who gave helpful advice about restaurants and takeaways. Very comfortable beds, room and bathroom all clean and newly decorated/equipped. Storage for bicycles at rear of pub.

It was a shame that no food was available at the pub on a Tues night…next time we will avoid Tuesdays.
Loved having the balcony both in the evening and first thing in the morning.

We stopped in Lyme Regis as a stopover on the way to Cornwall. When we arrived outside the pub we were a bit worried as had to get through the smokers standing in the door (it was raining). The room however was lovely, with stunning views but unfortunately it was raining. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and room were very clean. Tea & coffee provided. Breakfast was not included and we did not eat or drink in the pub. We had two meals - 0ne at the Oyster & Fish House which was quite pricey but we had a whole sole to share and it was delicious, as was the rest of the meal. Lunchtime the following day we went into Lyme Regis and visited Millside which is by the brewery and had an excellent lunch which was very good value.

Location good for able bodied unfortunately my partner has some mobility issues so walking down and back up the hill was a little difficult.

It didnt bother me at all, but if you have light sleep consider that you can hear some noise from the downstairs bar in the room

Could have had better lighting in the room and bathroom, particularly over the mirrors. The TV signal was very temperamental.
Great pub showing all sports and not too far from the town centre. The side entrance so you don't have to go though the pub is good.

Nothing really, although for some the Saturday evening music could be annoying but I enjoyed it. I suppose the long climb up the hill would be tough but as a fit 74 year old I treated it as part of my fitness regime!!!
The location was good and my room at the back had a great sea view. I travelled to Lyme Regis by train and bus rather than car which was a good move as I became aware that parking could have been a problem.

Although already clear in the reviews, there is music that plays till past 11pm that is very loud.
Good location, friendly staff and nice sized room and bathroom which were clean.
