How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A bit worried about parking on the road but it had cameras all over so parked near one. Nothing else to dislike.
Location was good for us as it was 10min drive to family. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Room was large and not cold. Facilities in the room ie - tea and coffee and milk. There was a band playing in the pub but we couldn't hear them from the room . All in all a comfortable stay and they extended our leave time from 10 am to 12.00 so wife was very happy with that. Happy wife , No earache ......

No hot water, so we couldn't shower. Batteries were not working in the tele remote. I'm sure the staff would have sorted these issues if we had asked, but we were in a rush when we got there.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was so comfortable, I've not slept that well in ages.

Could only fault the bed - was exhausted so managed to sleep on it, but could benefit from a new mattress/mattress topper
Staff were great and friendly, easy to check in and accommodated for us arriving early, - didnt get to go to the pub but a fantastic looking line up of draught was the first thing we seen as we entered

Far too hot in room Bed a little too hard for my liking
Breakfast was very good despite the lady cooking it having been given confusing orders by the person who checked folk in Hotel was generally good for the cost

Not much really, but to be critical outside of the room (4) the Hotel needs more attention regarding internal decoration and minor maintenance.
The location was excellent on many levels, close to my family, friends and the area where I grew up. The food at breakfast was typically equal to most hotels, however, the overall experience and interaction with the cook and waitress Kim was much higher. My room (4) was perfect, it was quiet, well ventilated and provided a great nights sleep. Being on the top floor I was also impressed by the extended views across the town and hills around Newbridge. Yes the Newbridge Hotel infrastructure could be improve, but the overriding positive for me was the wonderful staff who where friendly and made me feel welcome.

The stairs The shower
It was lovely , staff/ owners were lovely but I was put in a room right at the top of the building as I had my little dog , she's 10 and I'm partially disabled so found the stairs difficult , room was nice bed was lovely . One thing tho the shower was not good it was broken ! Didn't work properly and half way through my sort of shower hot water went cold , I wasn't told this would happen .

The room was clean . The overall quality was somewhat shabby and needs an uplift. The shower and hot water pumps are noisy. The water in the shower does not drain quickly and fills the cubicle. There is no towel rail or hooks for clothing in the bathroom. The door to the bathroom does not fit properly.
Good location for local amenities. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

The check-in process was not helpful. We didn’t know who to see about issues like the tv being broken in our room. We missed out on breakfast after being told that there was no dinner because they didn’t have a chef. We could have used a bit better instruction rather than just where the fire exit was.
Location; the room was just right for our family; the room was clean.

Unfortunately no meals atm as they can't find a chef. The lovely lady at the hotel suggested where the best food was. Thanks so much.
