Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThey don't serve food for dinner which meant we had to go to restaurants in town which wasn't a bad thing as we found some nice places. It just meant that as a group of 8 we didn't actually spend much time at The Old Bakery.
Lovely, comfortable rooms and great breakfast.

United KingdomTo be fair there isnt really anything we didnt like . Parking can be an issue although there is quite a large carpark nearby. In front of the Bakery is a very busy bustling little street which is mainly due to the place being so popular. We have always been lucky though and got a space. The rooms dont have a huge amount of power sockets which becomes a battle if three of you all want phones charged etc . Trivial things really.
Breakfast was excellent as always . We were informed when we arrived on the Friday that breakfast wouldnt start until 9.00 am on the Sat morning instead of 8.00. This wasnt going to work with our plans as we had to be away earlier than that . We were told to come down for 8.30 and they would sort something out for us which they did. Problem solved without any drama . The staff are always so helpful and friendly . We have stayed here twice now when our son has competed at Warwick Uni (Hes a para-athlete) . Its one of those little Gems you find every once and a while .

United KingdomRoom a tad small. Parking a bit tight. But accept that both of these factors are offset by good location.
Good location. Good facilities in the room -especially the shower. Nice/popular bar. Friendly staff. A relatively limited breakfast menu- but cooked nicely.

United KingdomWhilst the room was fine, it was a little on the small side. I was travelling on a long trip and had a fair amount of luggage which didn’t help. No complaints though. It had everything I needed.
You get one chance to make a first impression. Being allowed to check in that little bit earlier was very helpful. Owner was polite and welcoming. Love the ‘boutique’ style.

United KingdomParking and certainly the inability to adjust the sound on the TV - the volume as is, is a waste of time.
Hotel itself overall was very pleasant. Breakfast was lovely but the same every day. The room was fine, nice bathroom with an exceptional shower. However the Volume on the TV in the room is programmed not to go above 15 - I have good hearing but was unable to hear it at all. Reason given was they didn’t want to disturb their neighbours or other guests. I found that unacceptable - you could easily have put it up to 20 without there being a problem. They say they have free parking on site but only have 5 spaces for 15 rooms so not true for all who stay. They did save one for us but that was because of the TV issue, and we were residents for 3 nights, and had pointed out we booked the hotel because of the facilities they offered - one of them being on site parking. Please note the single information sheet in the room is out of date and does not offer patrons what it says it does. Staff very nice.

United KingdomWe stayed one night having spent the day at the NEC for The Commonwealth Games. It’s clearly popular with locals as it was buzzing when we got there, which is always a good sign. The staff were extremely helpful & friendly, the room was clean & comfortable & the breakfast was tasty & filling. We spent the our morning exploring the town & Kenilworth Castle before heading home, but wished we had planned a longer stay to visit other locations near by, another stay at The Old Bakery is on the cards in the future.

I was made to feel so welcome! What a beautiful little haven owned and run by the nicest chap. Staff were all fantastic and could not have been more helpful. Despite this being a business trip, I felt like it was a little holiday too and won't hesitate to book again. Highly recommend The Old Bakery ❤️

United KingdomThe bathroom was a bit dated and the room a little dark but cosy and fine for one night.
The staff were friendly and informative. Great atmosphere in the bar area, with interesting interior and good choice of beers and wines. Bonus in being able to sit outside and enjoy the evening as well as people watch!

United KingdomI found the matress to be slightly hard and uncomfortable, but that's just personal preference. I really couldn't knock anything with The Old Bakery.
Staff were very friendly from the moment of arrival. Location was excellent, a 10-15 minute walk to the town centre. Even though you are staying above a pub, the atmosphere is very warm and friendly, and not loud at all, even with the room window wide open.
