How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A very modern and comfortable room overlooking the sea. A nice lounging area and a very nice warm shower. A good selection for breakfast. Very friendly staff. Would recommend, and plan to return later in the year with family.

The only real issue is that breakfast is only served from 1000 - 1130hrs. So if you have to get off early, you will miss the excellent breakfast.
The room was clean and tidy, the bathroom compact, yet adequate. The bed was the highlight, comfortable double bed and with the window slightly open, it was silent other than the rhythmic rumble of the waves against the breakwater. I had the best two nights sleep I have had for a long time. The breakfasts were excellent, with good choice, local fare and generous portions. Very good value. Staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a very enjoyable stay.

Unfortunately breakfast not being served until 10:00am is no good if you are staying on business. Provision of a continental breakfast would not require a chef, so surprised nothing was on offer. this was not made clear when booking
The welcome and room were very good and a minor problem with a key was more than adequately addressed. Dinner was outstanding. the room was lovely despite creaky floorboards.

Overall, our stay was excellent. Very small points were that a stool or table in the bathroom would have been useful to put toiletries on, and there was occasional fan noise (from downstairs). Breakfast doesn't start until 10am, which wasn't a problem for us, but good to know before you visit (a small fridge is provided in the room alongside the usual tea and coffee making facilities).
Very comfortable room. Well appointed with sofa and chairs and coffee table, dressing table and mirror. Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Separate entrance (from the pub itself) to the rooms was good to have.

Your staff were fantastic. I worked in the restaurant with excellent wifi, great surroundings, amazing food and staff that catered for my every need. I even brought my dog in for the last day and she was given her own water bowl and dog biscuits. I can not thank your team enough for making what was a hard working week into a very comfortable, full of excellent service and nice environment time. I would recommend you highly to anyone. Big thanks to the restaurant staff.

Very creaky floors!
Lovely room, looked as if recently redone. Very clean, nice decor. Sea view from our room, building is right at the water's edge.

I think checkout time should be 1 to 2 hours later than breakfast start time. At the moment check out and breakfast start time are both at 10am. This would be in line, in my opinion with other similar types of accommodation.

Creaky floorboards in our room and next door's. Breakfasts not available until 10 am earliest.
Right on the cycle route 1 and staff let us store bikes safely overnight. Warm and comfy room with good food in the bar downstairs.

Floorboards in the bedrooms were very sqeaky. Breakfast wasn't included and didn't start till 10am, so we went elsewhere. I feel it was a bit overpriced considering there was no breakfast included.
Room was very clean and comfortable. The furnishings were lovely. We didn't eat in the restaurant, but the menu looked good.
