cosy room. set in idyllic surroundings with a brook running under a large tree where you can sit with a coffee. breakfast was fantastic and hosts very friendly and helpful. there is a pub next door with your normal pub grub. locals very friendly and happy to share the history of the area and advise you of the best places to visit. obligatory photo had to be taken outside the nockin shop 😀

Rather thick duvet for us, but appreciate that others prefer to be warm at night

Great welcome, comfy room with tea and coffee making facilities, plus free gin and tonic and bottled water. Breakfast was really good and freshly cooked to order. Didn't need to eat for the rest of the day ! Quiet location meant a good night's sleep.

Owner attitude to a genuine mistake and poor welcome therefore !

I was booking on behalf of an overseas friends , who had some family travelling with them so instead of a party consisting of 2 adults and 2 older children (which i assumed was correct) it turned out to be two older ladies , one very elderly (86) Whilst i understand that the owner of the B & B was a little take back that the party were 4 adults, one look at the group would tell them that they are people of integrity and it was an honest mistake. I booked 2 double beds so there was no issue with space. In the end because the owners were making a big deal about it i found the male adult an alternative accommodation, it was intimated that there was something untoward going on. One lady from the party , although embarrassed by the mistake tried to make light of it , but the owner was anything but pleasant ! The owner really need to work on their welcome and understanding of guest's needs.

If I'm nitpicking, the only issue I could have would have been the TV in the room. Now we weren't here to watch tv, but could only see free view and the screen was a bit small (maybe 18- 22").

The breakfast was brilliant, bed was fine, the room was great & hosts were fantastic. I was trying to show my partner a bit of British culture and this stay really encapsulated it.

Noise from the road, first night but proprietors moved us to another room because of my husbands disability at a different part of the house and it was lovely.

Wonderful little place. Very clean, tidy and lovely couple running it. Had a very nice quiet sit in their sunny back garden. Breakfast was exceptional, best we've had in a long time, even better than Rowton Castles breakfast, where we attended a wedding the following day. Everything was cooked to perfection, lovely stay.

Wendy &Colin are lovely, we had a lovely night sleep, all in all everything was great. I couldn't see the option of poached eggs on the breakfast menu, so I asked if I could have them instead, this wasn't an issue. They were yummy.

There was nothing not to like... all positive from me and splendid style too...

AMAZING! From the welcome, the advices given about the area , the location which is very quiet and with a nice pub at the corner to the style of the house, the attention to details, very clean, the delightful breakfast ( including smoked salmon!!) ... very kind and attentive hosts who know how to make you feel special. A definite come back. Collin even put his own car in front of our motorbikes as he knew I was anxious about anything happening ( there was no risks whatsoever...I simply lived to long in busy towns!!). Best last night stay of our holidays. Fabulous!!!

The shower cubicle could do with a little refurb, and my fitted sheet was a little grey I noted, when I pulled back the duvet, but these are not complaints at all, just something which I noticed.

Accommodated my choice of breakfast with nil issues. Hospitable hosts, Wendy and Colin, nothing was too much trouble. Made us very welcome from start to finish. I loved that they had a beautiful labrador, I am always happy when people are animal lovers, we are a special breed 😊
