How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Lovely clean and comfortable accommodation with nice furnishings and decor. Very comfortable bed and great night's sleep. Family room is nicely spacious with fantastic view. Accommodated dogs well. Lovely breakfast and welcoming hosts who kindly accommodated out late arrival due to a funeral without complaint,

Moretanhampton has limited parking. We parked in the Pay and Display, which is very close to the property, but managed to get a parking ticket when we moved the car ready to pack on the day of departure. There is a bay opposite the property, which normally allows parking for one hour; but as it is technically for loading only, be careful not to get caught out, as we were. This is no reflection on the property or the owners, but it’s good to know, if you are travelling by car.
A really lovely stay. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed meeting them. Breakfast was excellent; we particularly enjoyed the vine tomatoes. Our room was spacious and light, with a great seating area in the bay window. This was a very quiet and relaxing stay, in the heart of beautiful Dartmoor. We had a great meal at The Horse, and there are other good eating options.

Access was difficult for people with mobility issues as there are a number of steps up to the property. There is also no lift in the property.
Breakfast was excellent. The room was spotlessly clean.

Parking can be problematic as there is no onsite parking. That being said there is a nearby parking lot which is reasonably priced and is free from 6pm till 8am and on street parking with the same time restrictions with a 1 hour maximum stay. So it isnt really an issue just something to consider if you like to plan ahead.
The staff were amazing, friendly and ready and able to accommodate in any way they can

Great location for spending some time on Dartmoor. Central location for an evening in the village pubs and the Italian was good for Pizza. Easy to park opposite. Comfortable night sleep, very quiet and cracking breakfast in the morning.

The property was clean and bright with good sized rooms and a comfy bed. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Really couldn’t fault The Old Post House.

The property was very clean and the hosts were friendly, helpful and welcoming. My room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The location was good, not far from Dartmoor but accessible by public transport from Exeter.

Checking in at first was mildly confusing as the owners at first looked (to me at least) like other guests. They then sheepishly opened the door and looked rather confused by my sudden appearance. I was to be fair 20mins earlier than the 15.30 check in and my partner was across the road in the car with our daughter. Parking is up the road in a public car park, it was free for sat evening and £1.20 for the whole day Sunday so not really a big deal Other than that nothing else at all.
Nice big room, breakfast was really great and they went the extra mile by having a highchair, mickey mouse cutlery and plates for our daughter which she loved.

Great breakfast, loads of tea and coffee available in the room and topped up every day, really friendly owners who we chatted to everyday and gave us recommendations. Also loved saying hello to the owners’ dogs every morning, very friendly!

The ceiling light in our room was very dim. There were two good bedside lamps, but for reading in the room the lighting wasn't quite adequate. However, we did have the lounge.
It was very cold outside but the house was warm. The beds were comfortable. There were plenty of power points. We had Room 1, where the en suite was unusually spacious, which was really nice. Everywhere was extremely clean. We particularly appreciated that there was a lounge where we could sit at any time of day. The breakfasts were good.

Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very comfortable and the house had lots of character. There was a lovely lounge to use if needed. Breakfast was of great quality and nice selection (fresh fruit ramekins were a lovely touch), and veggie sausages were provided. Good central location and good value, nearby council car park didn't cost an arm and a leg.
