Probably couldn't be helped but room 1 was right on the corner of the pub directly next to the road so noisey when traffic went by. I was woken up in the early hours of Saturday by a lorry I thought was going to join me in bed...then sitting in bed with a cup of tea on Saturday morning a coach pulled up outside. The room has dual aspect windows out onto the road/ local green, so they could see right in. I ended up waving to the coach party while in bed... I might suggest they fit blinds to the windows as I had to pull the curtains every time I wanted privacy which made the room quite dark. I was lucky enough to be the only person staying on Friday night/ sat morning so my sleep was reasonably peaceful but Sunday morning when Saturdays overnight guests went to early breakfast and checked out was not at all relaxing as the front door was banged continuously and reverbarated through the room wall and head board. I did suggest a sign be put on the front door to suggest guests closed it quietly and be considerate to other guests as walls/ doors are quite thin. Linens were clean. Bed was reasonably comfey. I slept well when I could sleep. I did not unpack into the draws provided as these were gritty and I was most dissappointed to find the cups uncleaned with ring marks and the teaspoons still with wet liquid residue on them. I borrowed disposable cups from the friends I was visiting, and a teaspoon, and antibac wipes as I found the underneath of the toilet seat and porcelain had urine marks and the basin had what looked like either toothpaste or cleaner stuck on it, which I scraped off with my nail. I noted the carpet also hadn't been vaccumed with bits left on it and a dead fly under the dressing table.

The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. I was a little dissapointed that the manager who checked me in on arrival, did not recognise me at check out.

The coffee sachets in the room were not too good, but usually that's the case - the tea was lovely though.

The location was nice, overlooking the village green and on a road that was quiet at night. The rooms were big, individual and homely. Nice showers. Breakfast was good - quite a few local people from the area came along for that too. There was a small shop in the pub which was good as we'd forgotten our toothbrushes.

On a main road, building shook as wagons passed, no cooling during heatwave so windows open and nearby revellers noisy until 3 am. We ate, it was expensive food with no salad dressing. Shared bathroom for £80??

Property not as expected. Very tired appearance, no longer a pub but a village store. We booked a king room and didn't get a kingsize bed. Room reached by outside stone staircase, Advertised a restaurant but no food served after 7pm.

Room was much smaller than in the pictures and was quite shabby. The shared bathroom was a bit moldy and the whole place was a little damp. Poor value for money, especially when considering breakfast was extra.

Very friendly staff. Nice location in the middle of a really cute village.
