We loved it all!

The old Forge is an old building but very well maintained and we were very comfortable . We appreciated our host's generosity and the delicious cooked breakfast. We were the only guests there as the hosts had to leave the next morning so had not taken more bookings. In deference to our early booking and the fact we were from Australia and possibly in the middle of our trip, they let our booking stand. We really appreciated this. A real positive for this accommodation is that there is parking at the premises, and it is free. (Often "parking available " means paid parking in a council car park.)

Wish I could think of something negative to say but that would be lying!

Philip and Nicky could not have done any more for us. They made us feel very comfortable throughout our 2 nights stay and even helped us in producing the bus timetable for our visit to Eastbourne (bus stops are directly opposite) which was a great bonus for us, being rather elderly pensioners. Breakfast was excellent and the two evening meals were exceptional.

Very friendly, a very comfortable atmosphere, and the food was beyond exceptional. The only downside was finishing my meal as I wanted the flavours to continue. Perfect for a quiet stay and great food.

The location is good for visiting the Eastbourne area, we only stayed one night but it was really nice and the breakfast was fab. Hosts were friendly and i would stay again.

We had a lovely stay here. The room was comfortable and we slept so well. Complementary tea, coffee and biscuits a lovely touch too. Philip was helpful, funny and welcoming and made amazing breakfasts too, thank you.

Assumed the bathroom would be en suite but it was opposite my room, and was for my sole use so it didn't affect me in any way

Road noise was a bit intrusive but not much the owners can do about that as it is on a main road.

Rather a gruff attitude from the proprietor when we first arrived , could have been a little friendlier.

Location was lovely, very quiet at night. They were very accommodating for our dog, they even put in a dog bed, a blanket and dog treats in our room for her. Good location was excellent for dog walks and for site seeing. Breakfast was exquisite, very fresh fruit and the buttered croissant was fresh and melted in my mouth. You had a selection of fresh fruit, muesli, a selection of cereals Greek yoghurt etc. There's enough selection for most people. My wife loved the homemade jam and marmalade so much so that she bought a jar of each. The full English breakfast was scrumptious.

Our room was facing the road so traffic noise was audible. However traffic at night was light and we slept well. The shower was adequate but a bit low power.

Good parking adjacent to the hotel. The hosts were very friendly. The hotel itself was spotless. There was a plentiful supply of biscuits and several options of drinks in the rooms. Very comfortable bed. Fresh fruit and croissants as well as usual fare for breakfast.
