Coffee at breakfast each day was not great, neither were the deep fried and overcooked vegetarian sausages.

Room excellent, sea view, warm and comfortable. Staff were welcoming and friendly, pub is excellent, really quirky, ale is kept well and good choice.

We loved walkng along the shoreline, the tides of the sea crashing into the bay by the harbour. Quaintness of the area. Brilliant. The staff were all very accomodating to my dietry requirements. The Chef was supreme with changing meals to suit my diet, making desserts that were wonderful. I felt very spoiled by everyone in the hotel. Thankyou x

Ahoy me Hearties!!!!!! We had a fabulous 2 night stay at The Olde Ship Inn. Super atmospheric with delicious fresh food & mouth quenching flagons of ale! 🍺 If you know any old or young sea dogs, take them to this fine establishment full of interesting memorabilia & roaring fires 🔥 ⚓️🛟

We arrived back at the hotel after 11.30pm and found the front door locked. There was no sign sign at the door, nor had we been advised that after 11.30pm you needed to go to a rear door in the car park and ring the bell dor the night porter to give you access.

The breakfast was very tasty and very filling.

A lovely place, very quaint & interesting accommodation, but sadly the location was a little uninteresting once we'd visited Bamburgh Castle. Not many shops, nothing to go out & about for. However, we did only go for the Bamburgh Castle tour, so the one night stay served our purpose. The hotel itself, the staff, the food, were all faultless.

The staff, the hotel food, the hotel itself is outstanding, a real historical gem, like staying in a museum, we loved it

Location is fabulous central to every thing. The food was amazing great breakfast choices. Its still as traditional as it was when I first went there some 30 plus years ago.

Great service, genuinely friendly staff. Very comfortable room. All we could wish for. 🙂 The evening meal was delightful, as was the breakfast, with good options (fresh kippers, were fantastic). Warm, cosy and welcoming.

The Ship inn is a great place to stay, great atmosphere in the bar, friendly staff and the breakfast is as good as you'll get. We stayed in Chapel Row cottage at the back of the pub as it is dog friendly. Spotlessly clean, very cosy on a wild winters night and very comfortable.

Negatives were no parking except blue badge holders..I realise the space limitation. Also they need a better system for adding meals and drinks to the bill.they overcharged and my wife had to haggle to get the bill reduced.

Excellent Food . Great range of beer Cozy bar area. Very comfortable bedrooms and value for money. Superb location !

    Nothing

Fanatastic place. Full of character and characters. Rooms are fine - very comfortable beds, spacious bathroom. Only downside for me personally was having to climb two flights of narrow / bendy stairs but that speaks to my age and state of disrepair rather than a criticism of the property. Ate in the restaurant on the night we stayed and food and service were excellent. My wife is not English and is not a natural fan of English food but she devoured the fish and chips - which were as good as i have tasted anyway. Being a lifelong fan of beer and bars I loved the bar in the Old Ship. An excellent selection of real beers and spirits ( I enjoyed the 7 Bridges IPA and Jamesons preand post dinner) and sociable staff and customers. Very rarely ( never ) spend time writing reviews but The Old Ship really does deserve it.
