Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOutside the window of room 15 is some kind of overflow water that you can hear all night. It also bangs once it filled and the process starts again. Kept waking me up as I’m a light sleeper. Didn’t notice it until we went to bed. Bathroom needs refurbishing as it’s has a water leak.
Easy to check in and out. Bed was comfortable. Room was a nice size. Shower was nice once you got the right mix of water. Walking distance to a Marstons pub.

United KingdomThe check in was a computer, I struggled to find my booking. One of the ladies behind the bar was on hand happy to help thankfully. Very low ceilings and steep stairs (this is because i am tall, it's not necessarily a negative as it gave the hotel a lovely feeling and gave it a lovely character. Its more an FYI for tall people).
The hotel was lovely, it was clean and tidy and served our purpose well. The Staff were very polite and helpful. It had character. Our room had low ceilings and crooked floor boards, it was a lovely warm, cozy feeling room.

United KingdomRoom external to main building, and up a steep flight of stairs - not for the disabled. Room was of a good size but very tired and dated. Carrying luggage over earth and stony ground was difficult, and the climb up those stairs a back-breaker!
Breakfast was standard fare and decent quality. Staff were pleasant. Location was good for us.

United KingdomSelf service breakfast on first morning, awkward to serve, not much there and cold. Room not visited on one of the days so drinks not replenished. Toilet seat was lose and dangerous, but rectified. Shower was not properly fixed to the wall. TV fittings left in bed side table and dressing table. TV kept being interrupted with wifi message. Prefer bedroom with a window.
Bed was extremely comfortable. Air-con worked well and was quiet. Peaceful night's sleep despite wedding party and other functions. Powerful shower New, cleanly decorated room and corridor. Friendly, helpful staff Parking excellent. Lovely town centre within walking distance.

United KingdomThere was a bit of mould in my bathroom which I felt could have been dealt with. But really that was all.
My room had been recently renovated, so this was lovely. Bed was comfortable. Staff were amazing, especially Zara. She really went out of her way to help us.

United KingdomRoom was clean but just needed some TLC. Unfortunately the bed side lights were not working, the tv remote was not working, slow draining sink in bathroom. Tried to call reception but the phone wasn’t working either so had to head back to front desk to let them know. The hotel manager (Stacey) was very helpful and went above and beyond to fix the tv (travelling with child) and noted the other issues too.
Location was perfect for Bressingham and travel to Diss station Small but nice breakfast buffet selection and great choice of cooked breakfast items available to order. Great customer service.

United KingdomNot much really! teeny tiny complaint was that none of the wall lights worked and so it was quite dim with there only being a small window. We couldn’t watch the tv as the Wi-Fi was playing up I think, and the lamp in the kids room got worryingly hot when on for a short time.
Very spacious room in the annexe with an extra bedroom for the kids! Plenty of toiletries and little extras! Beds very comfy and clean. Very dog friendly and breakfast was fresh and plentiful with lots of choice! Would definitely stay again and hope to next year.

AustraliaApparently there were some rooms on the ground floor. I climbed several flights of stairs to get to my room.
The room was comfortable. The bed was comfortable. It had TV and Wi-Fi. It was in a convenient position central to the places I wanted to go. There was good variety in the breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner was available for an extra amount.

United KingdomAutomated check-in system very confusing. Had to seek help to check in; staff seemed to be hard pressed and short staffed (but when I found someone, she was very helpful). Small shortcomings in maintenance, e.g. room light not working etc but no major problems.
I feel that I got exactly what I had booked for and expected. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel basically clean and comfortable. Very convenient for the reason for my stay at Diss - travel by train and visiting Bressingham for a special event there.

United KingdomWe were in room 8 and the floor boards were very noisy! For us, the biggest disappointment was the staff, who were not very welcoming and made us feel like a hindrance when checking in.
The room was a good size but very dated and not particularly clean. The bathroom was also spacious and the shower powerful. We didn't eat at the hotel so unable to comment on the food, but we did visit the Marstons pub which is just a few minutes walk away and was lovely. We stayed for an event at Snetterton Circuit which was approximately a 20 minute drive away.
