There was build up of dust on radiator in room and on hinges in wardrobe.

Location very good. Breakfast was excellent. Good selection and nice and hot. Pleasant staff.

If I was to be super picky I’d say the toilets could have a makeover, however they were very clean and I guess suited to the steady flow of hiker with muddy boots.

Lovely cabins, clean and fantastic facilities. Food and drink exceeded expectations. Breakfast was spot on. Very welcoming of dogs which was a huge bonus for us.

The room was too hot and you couldn’t turn the heating down. TV was slightly too small.

The location and how dog friendly it is.

Quiet for us as was in April but the room was situated on the edge of a small courtyard which was the pub garden/patio with tables and chairs right under the window so has potential for noise on nice evenings. For some reason the ceiling/roof-space of our room was very noisy/creaky throughout the night.

Location was just outside Hathersage, about 10min walk away. Excellent area for walking out from so you don’t have to drive to a start. The room was very nice, clean, well equipped and had a comfy bed. Breakfast had a good selection of options. We also ate in the pub too and it was excellent. Staff were very nice, accommodating and polite.

It's a bit of a walk into the village but there's a footway all the way or a footpath across the fields.

Comfortable room with a large bathroom en suite accessed via a pleasant verdant courtyard at the back of the main pub building. Very good breakfast with a wide choice. Helpful cheerful staff.

More vegetarian options for breakfast and evening meal would be welcome.

Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Lovely views from the property. Quiet at night. Really comfortable beds and feather pillows. Easy walking distance from Hathersage Station. Helpful staff happy to provide extra mugs, biscuits etc for room. Really good breakfast with delicious home made granola. Nice cosy bar and super beer garden. Good food in restaurant. Plenty of space for parking.

The evening meals were good but a bit more variable than across the board excellent, and the waiting staff didn't all quite have full attention to detail (we were given the wrong bottle of wine); possibly as they were very busy.

We stayed in a shepherds hut which was very clean and cosy. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent and the roast beef on Sunday was extremely good; perfectly cooked and very generous.

Upstairs neighbour's every step was audible all the time. Mix of wood floor (which is okay) and supposedly an Elefant as neighbour (not okay). Can't fault the Inn too much. But it is probably something people should know, I imagine it could really grind some gears.

Amazing location in the countryside. Perfect for hiking. Delicious and high quality thought through menu. Clean and nice rooms. Friendly attentive staff. Free parking. We thank the team for their hard work.

We liked everything but more vegetarian options on the menus would be even better.

The location was excellent for walking. We arrived in the dark and so hadn’t appreciated the scenery and when I went to the car park in the morning, the view made me take a sharp intake of breath - it was beautiful. The room was clean and cosy with comfortable beds and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food was very good.

    That I had to leave.

Loved my stay in the Shepherds Hut, so cosy with the log burner. Loved the pub, really good food and wine - agree with previous commenters about having the best lamb pie of their life! Breakfast really good too. All staff very friendly and helpful. Good location, about a 15 - 20 minute walk from the station and town so was easy to explore Peak District using train.

    Nothing to dislike.

Everything was perfect throughout our stay, we had both evening meals at the Plough and the food was very good and the staff so friendly. If we return to the Peak District we will most definitely return to the Plough and have already recommended it to.our family abd friends.

As I stayed in January, it was a bit dark going back to the hut on my own after having a meal. I'm sure if I had asked at the Inn someone would have gone with me as the staff were really helpful.

Stayed in the Shepherds Hut. It was so warm and cosy with the added bonus of a wood burner with plenty of logs. Lovely location. Food in the Inn was delicious and staff very friendly.
