Booked this hotel the night before my mates wedding so we was already in the area the host david was a lovely gentleman and couldn't do enough for us even though he didn't have a chef on the night of our arrival which he did make us aware of way in advance of us arriving hired one for the following morning just so we had a full English breakfast before heading of to the wedding to keep us going would definitely recommend this place 😀

It was unfortunate that the dinner booked couldn't be served due to staff shortage, especially as the location is quite rural and other local options limited.

Breakfast was good and flexibility on serving time was appreciated.

The plough inn is in a most beautiful setting and there are stunning views all around.the p!tough is within easy reach of Clair a small market town which has some lovely shops. Our room was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom had a good shower, the beds to were comfy and we had a good nights sleep .Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice all in all we had a lovely time.

there was a bit of a mix up on the booking and our host expected us Saturday when we’d actually booked on Sunday . and we thought we’d have an evening meal at the venue but the restaurant had closed when we arrived . we were warned of this by the host phoning the day before . we did not realise it was so isolated in terms of nearest village where there were some food outlets . not a problem for us as we are seasoned travellers ! otherwise - lovely .

This was a personal preference, but I found the bed too firm for my liking. It's always difficult to find comfortable beds when you're used to sleeping on a comfort foam mattress at home. One of those things that it's impossible to please everyone with. In room 5, the towel rail is huge and impedes on the space in front of the toilet - a minor thing, but could be a problem if it's on!!!

The staff were lovely - very welcoming and accommodating. The room was a nice size and everything was very clean. I had dinner there one evening and the food was excellent.

Organisation was a bit hit and miss and on my arrival my room had been allocated to another guest. This error was soon remedied and I enjoyed a lovely evening, though service at table was again muddled and my dessert order was forgotten.

The Inn was set in beautiful rolling countryside with lovely views. It was a quiet location and yet close enough to main roads.

It was stiflingly hot on the first night, even with the window wide open, but there's not much they could have done about that! (The second night was cold, raining & thunderstorms - the joys of a British Summer!)

The host, David, was so helpful. Food was excellent, although quite a lot of it! Lovely area.

I would have liked to help out with the garden which has great views and plenty of space and a fantastic asset.

Real personal attention. Nothing was too much trouble. The bar areas are extensive, quiet but cosy. The place has a good atmosphere, fantastic views and the hand pump beer and food was good.

Rooms were a little dated.

The location was great and very quiet. The landlord, David, was very welcoming and efficient. The rooms were very clean. The bed was really comfortable. We enjoyed a very tasty meal in the evening and the breakfast was good quality.
