The mattress was a little too firm for me, and I actually like a fairly hard one, but I still slept well. The only real criticism I had was the pillows, which were of the 'bouncy' foam type - I find these very uncomfortable.

Very friendly welcome at the 'Plough'. The room was well appointed and recently decorated in a tasteful style. The bathroom had a powerful shower, which is a real plus point. The kitchen were kind enough to go 'off piste' for me at breakfast and prepare something which was not on the menu.

It was perfect- nothing was too much trouble.

The Plough was extremely comfortable, perfect location from Portsmouth when travelling North. Marvellous breakfast with everything you could possibly hope for. An absolute certainly I will return when travelling from France via Portsmouth.

Enjoyed a really nice overnight stay at The Plough, on route home from visiting Stourhead and Winchester Christmas Market. The Room was lovely with very comfy bed and great shower. Booked an Evening meal which was delicious. Breakfast was also excellent. Staff were very pleasant and friendly especially the Lady who booked us in and the young man who looked after us at dinner. Will definitely return and highly recommend the little gem.

As our stay was in November, it was very cold outside. Although our room was central heated, the heating was timed and therefore we were cold on arrival before it kicked in and the heating knocked off quite early in the morning and the cold did wake us up. Otherwise we have no other complaints.

It's a beautiful dog friendly rural pub with gorgeous rooms and friendly staff and locals. It was really clean and was one of the best places we have ever stayed. The food was superb and we would highly recommend it to everyone and would definitely stay there again.

Only 2 clothes hangers in the wardrobe. Bathroom is a bit small.

Only a minor quibble - we stayed with our dog (who was made very welcome), got told to take him out down the fire escape if he needed a wee in the night - it's made of crossed metal sheets (I can't work out how to explain it, like criss crossed strips of metal) which he wouldn't have been able to walk on without getting his paws stuck- carrying a dog up the stairs in the dark while it's raining isn't ideal at 3am.

Amazing food from the restaurant downstairs. Talked to the owner who seemed friendly and welcoming. Room clean and comfy. Would definitely return. Other reviews have mentioned traffic - we didn't notice it at all, but in fairness it was October so didn't have the windows open much.

None. An ideal location for a weekend away.

A beautifully decorated, spacious room. Staff were informative and incredibly accommodating. Very peaceful evening, no noise from road or pub below. Great location on outskirts of Winchester Centre, nearby to the home of Jane Austen and routes to Salisbury.

Very friendly staff and comfy clean room. We ate there one evening and the food was great. Breakfasts were tasty and nicely presented. The staff were very helpful and chatty. The dog was made to feel welcome too.

The size ( height ) of the chair for the table in the room needed to be higher to enable it to be used for business purposes i.e. use a laptop etc. Minor but sometimes important.

Pleasant location and the room and fixtures were of good quality. Evening meal and breakfast was excellent.
