Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI didnt know that there was a disco dj until 1 am each night and mistook the property for being a local b&b hotel and not one of the busiest night spots in town. This was a detraction for me as i couldn't go to sleep until 1am. But this is not really their fault - I left a day warly so i could find a peaceful early sleep for my last night in the area.
Met my expectations for room and style. Listing said shared bathroom but room had ensuite so that was good. Staff were all lovely to speak with.

United KingdomThe bathroom was really small and a squeeze to get into the door for the bathroom didn’t even open the full way. And didn’t look like it had been clean properly. I know we were only staying the 1 night but to only have half a loo roll was a bit tight. And could of given us a new 1
Close to Bristol without costing an arm and a leg to get in. Building was nice. They had a function on that night but everyone left the bar area pretty quickly at the end of the night so we could get to sleep quickly

United KingdomOur room seemed like it had been updated and was OK but the shower was stuck on super hot so we weren't able to use it and had to use our friend's room. The window couldn't be closed as it was wedged open and the new paint meant you couldn't shut it. But the main problem is that the hotel is basically a night club. It's super noisy until 1am at the weekend and all the rooms' windows open out onto the party area.
The location is super and the welcome friendly. Good that some breakfast was made available which is good for the price and liked just being able to help ourselves. Beds were comfy.

United KingdomWe booked it for a Friday night then got a message saying they have a DJ on Friday and Saturdays. It wasn’t so much the music it was the people talking outside our room. The hotel seems to be run by very young people, not sure if any of the staff were over 21? The room was better than expected, however no soap in the dispenser but a nice chap from behind the bar got us some. Would I stay again? Yes but NOT at the weekend.
The location is great, right in the centre of town.

JerseyLack of parking, but not the hotel itself to fault. I did find on street parking around the corner but it should be made more clear upon booking that this is the case.
It was a cheapish overnight stop in a location that suited my needs. The village was very pretty. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed in it for my stay. The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful, as were some of the pub locals. Made one feel welcome. Although there was loud music coming from the pub below the room,(Saturday night stay) it wasn't too too bad and the television muffled the sound out. It did state when I booked that there may be loud music so I was prepared to hear it. Never the less, it was to my taste and my dogs seemed to enjoy the disco lights when I walked through and they weren't scared of the loudness as they live with teenagers and are used to it! I was so tired I fell asleep regardless and had an early start in the morning, so just let myself out after leaving keys in key postbox drop.

United KingdomFirstly, please note there is no breakfast option which is fine as there is a small fridge in the room and a continental in-room breakfast is achieveable with some pre-planning. What was unfortunate was the fact that there is music in the bar below the hotel rooms. When we arrived, we were asked if we had checked the website as there was music until 1am. Now, I would have no reason to check the website as I booked through booking.com and why would I check their website before I arrived. What should have happened was a note from the hotel management before we arrived alerting us to the fact that there was a DJ until 1am and that we might experience noise. Leaving it until arrival and without giving us the opportunity to make other arrangements, which we may have done, is not good practice. We had gone out for a meal in any event and didnt' get back to gone 11.15. It was apparent the noise from both music and people was not going to allow us to settle so we went for a walk and found a pub in the high road which was doing an 80s night with a DJ which was really good fun as it was our age group as opposed to 18-25 yo in the Portcullis bar. We left there just after 12.00 when that pub shut and by the time we got back it was about 12.30. We were able to put up with the noise until 1am but it didn't give us a great night sleep as the curtains had insufficient black out and we were awake with the larks at 5am as the sun rose. Aside from this it was a nice hotel - a little bit of forwarding thinking and communicating with customers wouldn't go amiss.
The hotel is conveniently situated for the town and what it has to offer. The room was very clean and comfortable. For the money it was exceptional value. No frills but fine aside from the weekend night time activities in the bar!
