Nice room, good parking exceptional meal, room was larger and better equipped than expected. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Only slight criticism was the mattress was a little hard for me so I was a tad uncomfortable.. but that's my personal choice.. wouldnt put me off returning or recommending

Really good sized bedroom, very modern, xlarge bed, spotlessly clean and a definite plus was the small fridge in the room..nice touch. Breakfast was excellent.. lovely italian coffee and plenty of choice of cereal pastries juices etc and cooked breakfast was just perfectly cooked...staff very attentive. I was slightly worried that being a pub that noise might be a problem but not at all as the rooms are in a separate building at the back so no issues at all

Faultless

To e place itself was lovely, Staff were amazing. Everyone from the bar/restaurant staff in the evening to the lady making and serving breakfast. With no offence meant- The food was far far superior to what I expected. I had the beef wellington which was made to order which was beautiful. Next time I am in the area I will definitely be booking again to stay

We met up with our sons family and our daughter and her boyfriend came and is 2 kids we had a lovely meal and drinks which I paid for of course lol.

Bathroom a little small considering size of room. The sink was a little near the toilet. Not tight really but seemed strange being so close. Shower was just taps with no thermostatic protection from what I could see but worked fine with great pressure and temperature was easily balanced. Just needed to be careful. Biggest bug bear was £10 parking per night. And got the very last space it seemed. By pub close time not many cars there. I think if you are staying overnight then this should be free or at the least cheaper. Not sure how many people would walk there? Some sites mentioned parking was free. But that might be reflected in room rates? It did say on Booking.com £10 but tbh I didn't even look at that area of the site as was expecting it to be free for guests. This did put a negative spin on the stay but I've thought through the whole stay which is why I've given it a high mark.

Nice room, very large bed. Think 2 singles pushed together but wouldn't have known it. Quiete room in the block behind the pub. Didn't hear anything! Nice. Friendly staff. Good selection of food in the pub.

Having to pay for a parking space. Breakfast was lovely, but I felt very rushed by the lady constantly running around taking the plates off the tables and not giving you a chance to eat, considering its price was extra. There was no warning that there was a dog in the room next door barking during the night.

The bed was huge, so we had plenty of room. The TV was also huge. I liked that the room was in a separate building from the restaurant/pub area as that was quite noisy.

Not being advised about a parking charge and then being charged a ridiculous £10 for parking per night as I was checking out. I could have parked 5 meters away on the main road without being charged. Please be aware of this. It’s a real shame as it is an extremely well presented hotel.

The attention to detail was superb. Extremely clean and very well presented and very recently renovated to a very high standard.

£10 parking per day in Ashington come on that's just not on. Didn't know about this before getting to the portland and yes it would have affected my descion to book. The street outside is free.

Khalifa the manager couldn't do enough and his staff followed his lead.

The cleaners could of cleaned a square room instead of round all corners were missed off hoovering, the dust gathered in all corners ,I have a cleaning business if my team done that there'd be trouble Shower was immaculate until bent down to dry meself the drain was scruffy ,please start checking cleaners work ,they need more time to clean

I would have appreciated a breakfast included price on booking and the car parking fee came as a surprise. At £10.00 overnight, I thought this excessive especially as the car park was not secure.

Nothing I didn’t like. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if I was in the area

It was clean, comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was really lovely, nice coffee (coffee maker) and biscuits. There were robes and slippers and a safe too - which was a bonus as I was there to collect and pay cash for a puppy! I ate in the bar and the food was really delicious.

£10 per night for parking - extortionate and not advised at time of booking. Could do with something - shelves or similar to put toiletries on in bathroom - had to put them on the floor - not ideal

Faulty towel rail . Felt guilty having clean towels everyday because we could not dry them. Faulty toilet flush, had to flush twice to stop water running. Waste of water. Could hear people walking around all hours above us. ? Hard flooring and high heels.

I think the cost of the room is enough without the extra ten pound parking charge when they clearly own the car park and then Extra for a breakfast it makes it expensive

Asked for a room with a bath tub but none were available. Quite noisy as the room connected to the one next door via a locked door.
