How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The price for a mid week stay i think is over the top and think could be made cheaper as the hotel wasn't full, maybe could improve on a slightly later checkout say Midday...?
Room clean bed comfortable good location facilities very good complimentary tea coffee biscuits and water in room all are an added bonus and appreciated.

The only downside was there was no lift to the upper area of the hotel, which I struggled to lift my case up and down.
I arrived before check in time, staff were happy to check if my room was ready (which it was) and left me check in 1 hour early, which was greatly appreciated after a long travel. Room was small but perfectly clean, iron and hairdryer provided was a bonus. Bathroom very modern and clean too. Staff very friendly and in a good central location of chesterfield town.

It's in the centre of town so close to all the amenities. For a fee you can park in the carpark.

Another lovely stay in a comfortable double room which was very spacious plus a beautiful bathroom which was spotless. With a restaurant and bar too with a good selection of food and drinks it really made our stay just great

Not a lot of wardrobe space - we lived partly out of our suitcases. Noise levels. The pub opposite played loud music into the night at weekends. TIP No 1 take ear plugs. On two nights the people in the adjoining room watched tv. all night, TIP No 2 Do not accept an adjoining room Our room was on the top floor and accessed only by a steep flight of stairs. TIP No 3 Insist on a room at reception level.

The stairs to the Second floor are VERY steep so stick to the First floor if that would be an issue.
Clean and well positioned place. Staff were friendly. Rooms were big and clean, kettle with tea/coffee.

We booked a parking space at a cost of £10, only to find no spaces available upon arrival. This was not the fault of the hotel, another group of guests had parked without booking spaces, these guests were asked to vacate the spaces and book any free spaces available. The staff soon sorted our parking issues with a friendly approach.
Good sized room, with comfortable beds. Very clean bathroom and good working shower. The food was served to our table really quickly, we couldn't fault it.

Only has 7 car park spaces, need to reserve £10 a night. We parked in a multi storey car park 5 mins walk £8.40 for 24 hours. Window in the room was high up so although good light I could not see out of it
Located centre of Chesterfield, close to shops, restaurants and entertainment. Hotel was very clean, stairs, corridors and the rooms. Nice lively pub downstairs. Food was lovely, service when ordering on the app was quick. Prices very good. Room was comfy, nice shower. Staff in the hotel and pub were really helpful and friendly. Considering we are in the town and lively pub there was no noise at all once we were in hotel room.

Lovely hotel right in the city center, rooms are clean and have everything you need for a short stay. Even though there is a pub underneath you did not hear anything upstairs in the rooms.
