How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

No cupboards or drawer space for smaller clothing items, underwear, socks etc.
Very helpful friendly staff. Room pretty quiet being on the 6th floor. Great power shower!

Room decor dated and needs some tlc, bed could have done with thicker Duvet as room cold even with changing the air-conditioning
Outstanding breakfast , hot and everything freshly made. Very close to tram stop. Very helpful and friendly staff.

The walls are thin and echoey- I had booked for work and asked for quiet room. I was put next to a couple who had sex at midnight - 2 am and then they were at it again at 8am. Whilst this isn’t the hotels fault- it wasn’t ideal room to be next to me. And the room walls are thin and pick up all noise. Including the girls fake wailing.
It was close to train station. Clean. Comfortable and inexpensive The room was good location as I was facing inward rather than on to Portland Road.

Had booked for 2 single beds, only got a double bed and a pull out couch bed. Did not get what we booked for, and did not try to accommodate us to find an alternative room with 2 single beds.

The wall wasn't in good condition. As well the bed wasn't comfortable.

Air conditioning did not work properly but not a big issue, door on bathroom could be hinged in other direction to create more space

Awful breakfast, this is not a styles standard. Bacon looked awful, no cheese and really limited continental selection.
Knew ibis styles from France, although this not as elegant, clean and good location.

Rooms not very soundproof could hear next door, also noisy in a room by the lift. Bed a bit worn out.

The fact that the hallways are carpeted - it's very difficult getting luggage wheels to run on them.
Very central and staff are very accommodating. The restaurant downstairs was also convenient.

Lift is too small, 2 people with luggage and your boxed in and suffocating. The rooms are too dark. The doors don't close properly and kind of rattle, so your conscious that is someone trying to get in. Have this weather theme which is nice in the lobby area but in the room its too much, they have a frame that is at an angle around the tv and it messes with your eyes. They don't supply a tissue box and the bathrooms are quite small, like you have to step in and then close the door in order to squeeze to the toilet or the sink. The showers leak and water goes everywhere as the cubicle is too small unless your super skinny! If you want to order an uber it wont come to the hotel it goes off toward another direction and you have to walk a bit and if they drop you off, they drop at the back of the hotel which is then a bit of walk because they cannot drive that way. There is no safe in the room for personal belongings either!
Location is good and convenient if your walking, right outside of Piccadilly gardens, you have taxi's outside of the hotel. Staff were nice and pleasant.

Quite a basic hotel for the price, Shower was luke warm.
Cindy at reception was very helpful to find suitable car parking and restaurant recommendations. Breakfast had a reasonable number of options. Very good location in Manchester central.

Some noise from the street and from neighbouring rooms until 11.30
