There was nothing we did not like

Very friendly locals and staff. Accommodation well equipped and Internet equipped (free). Food and drink good quality and reasonable prices. Surprised how close to Durham City, Beamish Museum etc. Will be staying again when in the area. Owners couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome.

Ideal for what I needed clean, good breakfast, great staff. Read the previous reviews- I’m 6ft 2” and the shower was more than big enough for me and no problem with getting loads of hot water. Yeah the room is not the biggest but that was no concern for me. Bar downstairs served a great range of beers and the breakfast was spot on.

There was nothing I didn't like.

Peter and his staff are really friendly and very accommodating. I had requested a very early book in, and this was done with absolutely no fuss. Everything was explained upon arrival and by Peter the room was very clean plenty of tea and coffee in room Bed was very comfy and had a great night's sleep. Overall really happy with my stay and would definitely recommend the railway crossings to anyone looking for accommodation in Wingate.

Restaurant last orders was 7pm. Would of been nice if 8pm. The room didn’t have anywhere to hang clothes.

Nice clean simple property. Good value, full breakfast included in the price. Excellent value for money. We were able to park outside, so could see our car from the bedroom window. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Great location just outside of Hartlepool for Tall Ships Race. Lovely staff and food was excellent. Great steak deal on Thursdays. 2 starters, 2 steaks and a drink each for £25.

No on site parking but plenty of parking nearby. We arrived back late after a concert at the stadium, had to enter the property from the back entrance up some steps which were poorly lit so needed to be really careful.

The hosts were fab, we arrived a little early but the room was ready so we were allowed to check in, we had our lunch in the pub ( good value for money) before we ventured into Sunderland. The location is good too, really close to major road links. Will stay here again if we are up that way again.

Nothing I didn't like, if anything there was limited parking but owner was ready to accommodate us with his parking spot if we couldn't get one. It could do with some hanging space not a problem for us as only stayed one night but could be a issue if you were there more than a couple of nights. None of this was a problem for us though and didn't spoil our stay here.

Owners , and staff very friendly and welcoming, rooms were clean and comfortable done to a very high standard. Bar area was good and a good selection of food. The beer garden was a good size too. Breakfast was included in price too and was lovely and filling. Overall a very nice experience in a tucked away gem of a pub. We will certainly be back again.

there isn’t anywhere to hang your clothes in the room. living out of your bag is fine for a night or two but when you’re there all week it’s not ideal. The management were unable to give me a VAT receipt for my trip, despite charging it, so I have been unable to reclaim the VAT portion of my expenses.

I had to mention that the kettle didn't fit under the spout of the tap...so we had to fill it a cup at a time - but that said, the kettle was spanking new. There were pictures on the wall... but the two pics were the same... in fact they were the images the frames came with... obviously there had not been time to change them - but this is a tiny niggle. A shelf to put toiletries on in the bathroom would have been good - we had to put everything on the floor...oh, and a hook on the door to put towels on.

Location was easy to find and ample parking. The breakfast - a full English - was also ample and hot - very enjoyable. The rooms had recently been refurbished and were to a high standard. There were tea/coffee facilities and some biscuits too. The bed was very comfy and the towels and bedding all appeared to be new too.
