Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing really, apart from finding a place to park. You have to get lucky to park outside pub, limited parking. There is a Tesco opposite with free parking for 2 hours or all day parking for £6 a little down road from pub.
Location was perfect, just a short walk to town center. Breakfast was great and staff were very friendly and helpful. The Railway is in a great place if you want peace and quiet as its away from the centre of town.

United KingdomThis hotel came up when I entered 'Car Parking' in the search, but there isn't any, the only option is literally on the streets near the pub and only after 6pm, which was an annoying situation when I got there as I then had to drive round and round looking for somewhere. My only other gripe, which was really annoying also, was despite having a WiFi Booster in my room, I basically had no WiFi whatsoever, which meant I could do no work at all, and I rely on hotels having signal so I can catch up on the day's messages, this was compounded by the fact my team were on TV in a massively important game, and I could get it on my Tablet due to the above either.
The staff were lovely, the room was a really good standard, although, as with most places I stay, the shower head was iffy. The food was a really good standard, that was the evening menu as well as breakfast, and it was value for money too (I was there on Steak Night, and it was the nicest I've had in a while). The breakfast in the morning was the best I'd had in a long time too, and the lady serving was really friendly and chatty also.

United KingdomThe property was advertised with private parking on booking.com but this was not the case, parking was available to the side of the property but was on a first come basis.
The location was very good with just a stroll into town, the propert was on the same road as our favourite restaurant which was a bonus.

United KingdomLovely, friendly pub with pleasant and helpful staff. The location is perfect for a night out in Skipton. Breakfast was good and we will probably eat at the pub next time we stay as it seemed very popular for food, with a yummy looking specials board.

United KingdomI think maybe in the summer a small fridge would be a big help but I also suspect that the staff would be more than happy to store anything you think needs to be kept chilled in any case.
A nice warm welcome. The room, a single one, was pretty standard and did included a chair. I accidentally popped the drain cover off in the shower stall and even an area that no one would check it was spotless! So if the cleaner they use goes out of their way to even ensure the shower drain is spotless then you can guarantee the bedding, towels, room etc are equally as spotless. This is a small hotel/pub/restaurant which seems to be quite popular but I didn't hear any excessive noise as I don't think it attracts a rowdy crowd more like locals for a meal and a drink. I didn't try any of the evening meals but they do look really tempting. A lovely cooked breakfast and you do get a choice. Dining room even on the tables that weren't laid out for guests still had fresh flowers on them, a nice view out of the window and even the window boxes were in full bloom. Really nice attention to details. Perfect location for both the train station, Morrisons, Tesco etc and the town centre. Internet worked perfectly. You can get inside either through the pub or the locked side door. The fob key for that door works well and so did the room key. I would like to say that right next door is a tiny theatre called "Skipton Little Theatre" and I think it sits around 100 people, I went to see a performance and it was just such a nice atmosphere so check that out to see if there is anything on when you stay,

United KingdomWarm greeting with a quick check in and showing to our room. Staff were consistently friendly and attentive. Room had a large comfortable bed with a good sized ensuite. Everything was clean and stocked appropriately. Facilities were good for the price. We also ate there and that really made the experience so I highly recommend it! The Sunday roast was incredible. They also kept our bag secure in the office on our leaving day while we went on a canal boat tour before leaving for home, incredibly thoughtful! Will stay again.

United KingdomNo parking with pub, but managed to find free roadside parking close by.
It was a quirky traditional pub situated on a 'y' junction of two roads, the pub being triangular shaped, with aspects onto both roads. The roads were not unduly busy. It was close to the main shopping area and market of Skipton, castle, canal, cinema, bus and Train stations all in easy walking distances. All staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast available from 6am-9am. Good menu options. And all good quality. Comfortable beds, en-suite.
