Some room features had seen better days, e.g. dented heater (but did not need to use it), shower could be more powerful & would be nice if bath mat could be provided with towels in room as shared bath/shower rooms only had used bath mats screwed up on floor, but not expecting luxury at budget price.

Good value for money - decent breakfast included & also had evening meal with good portions of pub classics, comfortable bed, able to open window & quiet enough outside, everything clean & friendly staff.

Room was so hot, no fan or air con, found it was so hot in the room but in the corridor was cooler than the room, pillows were flat, I think I managed around 3 hours sleep.

Shared bathrooms are not for everyone - I was fine with it - the one I used for a shower was nice and clean and tidy. One of the other ones, some of the other guests look like they treated it like an extension of room and not quite so clean and tidy [this is a customer issue - not hotel].

The staff were exceptional and very polite. They quickly explained how everything works, physically shown to the room, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Bar has a nice beer garden out the back and a few nice craft beers to try. England were playing football, so they staff put the tv on in the little nook in the corner so that I could watch it in the comfort of the bar area. As I was staying in the room, was easy to run a tab, and clear before going up to room at the end of the night.

On returning to our room after an evening meal in town, was met with a group of young adults sat in the corridor enjoyng a feast (takeaway) they did move the food so we could get past, not what i would expect when going back to a hotel room. Paid for bed and breakfast, disappointing that the breakfast was continental only during the week, on arrival was not informed of this, cooked breakfast only available weekends and at an extra cost. Not a big selection available, cleaning staff mopping and hovering where your eating (I know they have a job to do) but smelling floor cleaner while your trying to eat is not great.

Mouldy/bacteria smell in bathroom, after the initial stench of bleach wore off. No cooling facilities such as a fan or air conditioning, so room was very hot when I arrived and I was unable to open a window. No welcome information in the room, so difficult to work out how to use heater, which I thought doubled as air conditioning! Plug socket too far away from bed. Sink and toilet were very noisy. Very importantly, I was unable to lock the door from the inside which made me feel vulnerable, so I ended up putting the stool with my heavy suitcase on top in front of the door! No glasses for drinks were provided, and cups for tea and coffee were small and fiddly to hold.

Small room but adequate for 1 night stopover. Usual tea making facilities and biscuits, although not much milk provided. Modern décor and bathroom was decent enough. Staff were informative and friendly. I didn’t try the breakfast, as I woke up stupidly early, nothing to do with the hotel though. 5 minute drive from Asda and McDonalds. Despite being over a pub the room was surprisingly quiet, although it was a Sunday night.

Breakfast served from 8am in the week and as I was travelling for work, wasn’t able to have breakfast at the hotel. Also TV in room couldn’t get the normal channels (e.g. BBC 1, ITV 1, Channel 4 etc)

When someone uses the sink in another room I can hear it through the plug hole in my room lol. The bed side lamps didn't work.

Just let down by the WiFi access. Previous visits have been no problem and WiFi logged on no problem. For some reason now devices wouldn't connect - the bar staff were helpful but even they now have trouble. If The Raven management see this review can you get the WiFi connectivity problems sorted please...it may start costing you customers ultimately if not.

The staff are always really welcoming, and the rooms are good value. Just a problem with WiFi connectivity, which I go into in more detail below.

The fact that the only toilet I could use was in the bar and that was locked at 10:30pm.

We didn't mind,but the hotel doesn't except cash ,card only for both bar and restaurant.

ALL staff were very friendly, always had a smile for you, nothing was any trouble for them,our room was very clean and comfortable, no complaints from the 4 of us who spent the weekend there.Good bar and restaurant price,if we go back to that area again ,we would definitely book this hotel again.

I could only say, the location was a bit out of the main town but there were still a varied amount of restaurants and convenience stores. But that was probably more to do with the fact we only stayed one night.

The room was so nice, very large, beautifully tiled bathroom and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room temperature was perfect. They had a continental breakfast laid on in the morning, which was a refreshing change and plenty of choices. The staff were very polite, friendly and very helpful.

Pillows awful. Breakfast was only continental. Was looking forward to an English breakfast! Shower flooded whole bathroom! Bed very squeaky!
