Breakfast needs to start 1 hr earlier for business travel , had to skip both as needed to be at office for 8ish ( big shame as the breakfast is fantastic)

Unfortunately we were on a time schedule and on the morning in question the cook was stuck in traffic so we did miss out on the cooked breakfast. We was given however a bacon roll to take with us.

No soap in the shower - only shampoo and conditioner....

Quintessential British lodgings, complete with sloping floors and charming decor over a delightful bar/restaurant. The staff were super helpful, great ambience and the cooked breakfast (included in the price!) was excellent. Great facilities in the room for making tea or coffee, plus free bottled water and biscuits. Heaven!

Breakfast is late (8am) but only late because we had to leave early so I am sure it would fine on a normal day

It was so cozy, and clean. Great location for what we needed. Reminded me of the pub from the holiday 😀 I did not expect it to be so nice!!

An old coaching inn so be prepared for plenty of character including uneven floors and narrow stairs. Room was compact (old coaching inn) but with a really comfy bed, excellent tea and coffee facilities in room and a fantastic breakfast.

The bed in our room was a bit uncomfortable and the sensor in the bathroom kept turning the light off when you were still in there!

Staff were great, food was lovely, breakfast was wonderful. Would happily stay again if in the area.

The bathroom light was on a sensor which made it difficult in the night. Would have been better to be able to turn this on and off manually. Staff at the hotel were not friendly and often rude to guests.

Quaint, quiet location. Comfy bed. Top quality bedding. Extras like milk in little bottles. Bottled water. Coffee bags. Biscuits, hot chocolate. Take out breakfast for my very early start. Food was amazing! Staff were friendly!! Easy parking.

Only very minor things like the bathroom ceiling needing a bit of attention and it would be better if the curtains matched the rest of the very nice fabric in the room.

Comfortable room with great amenities. Nice dinner and lovely breakfast also. We will definitely stay again when we next visit the area. Great location for Whilton Mill karting circuit.

Breakfast was stunning, best full English in years! It did take a little time to arrive so note if you need to be out for work early and only available from 8am. Worth the wait and fresh!

Sensor light in the bathroom. Went out whilst in the shower and had to get out to get it back on. Thought there would be more walks close by, had to walk on roads.

Mattress in Room No 7 really bad and needs replacing. Would have asked to have changed rooms if we'd been there an extra night.

On our last visit there was a breakfast bar. This was much better and should be returned

The coffee was vile. Nescafé would have been better. We had to wait 25 minutes for a Continental breakfast. The croissant was barely warm and there was only one other person in the room so it was not as if they were overrun
