Bathroom could do with updating: sink plug hole rusty, shower head could be better

Ate both breakfast and dinner at hotel - both good. Room clean and comfortable with easy chair and table, plus desk and chair. All staff friendly and helpful. Two minutes walk to access path down to beach.

The only thing was that there was no gluten free ales or lagers from the bar. All other drinks were served. I did recommend some gluten free drinks which were noted by the bar staff.

Food was excellent, we had breakfast and dinner , both were very well presented , very tasty and always served with a smile. My wife has special dietary requirements, these were all catered for which is a big plus .

Hotel seemed a little “tired”. Carpets quite worn and bedroom carpet cream colour with quite a few stains. Breakfast times need to be extended beyond 9.30..people like a more relaxed start on holiday! Dining areas lacked “style and ambience”. Laminated menus and vinegar bottles on tables did not help! No background music at breakfast either! Good choice of breakfast but filter coffee very weak out of a flask and quality of cooked breakfast very average. Room we had not very sound proofed…we were kept awake first night be snoring from next room!

Location excellent..beds comfortable and clean room that was serviced well.

    Evening meal.

Breakfast quite good, evening meal not so good so we only ate there on the first night and subsequently ate at the pub .

Stayed here a good handful of times now, sadly witnessed a gradual decline - mainly small things but they add up.. bins not emptied, toilet rolls not replaced, dirty mug, plastic cups not changed, biscuits not replaced etc, Rooms are tired, carpets showing their age, showers and bath mastic peeling - no little touches such as tissues, shower gel. A shame. Area is lovely.. Breakfast experience not as good as it used to be, items running out and not replaced. Dinner is in the coffee shop area now, where it used to be in the restaurant. Sadly we won't be returning.

Good location and food (not quite as good as it used to be)

It could have been warmer in the communal areas. Also, the breakfast was not hot, although plenty of choice. A very difficult place to traverse to from Blackpool. It took 18 hours to travel each way.

The locals were so friendly and helpful. We were visiting my daughter in hospital and found it difficult to get there. So a lovely lady took us picked my daughter up and took us back to the hotel. Unfortunately we missed food, but there was a great fish n chip bar a short walk away and we were able to eat in the hotel restaurant.

No lift. Rooms were a bit of a hike from reception. Corridors a little tired - could do with brighter walls to make the walk seem less of a challenge.

Excellent breakfast cooked to order (with our amendments to menu). Lady waitress very attentive & engaging. Room was excellent - spacious, great bed, decent size TV, warm. Good pub bar. Prompt service at reception for check-in and check-out. Much improved on our visit two years ago.
