Room was too hot at night. There was loud banging from a door below our room, needs soft closures? The carpets were very worn. Could be made much more relaxing and luxurious just with new flooring and more stylish decoration.

Towels, bedding and bathroom were very clean. All staff were helpful and friendly. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent, large portions, proper home-made chips and fresh salad. Reasonably priced and wide choice. Large car park, early check in and good check out time.

There was a function on and the music was very loud! To be fair we had been warned there was a function but we hadn’t expected it to go on until 00.45!

Excellent breakfast and evening meals, very tasty and large portions

You could hear people moving around downstairs and outside the rooms. It’s is an older building though so to be expected. Didn’t really disturb us much and still got a good night sleep.

Great location. Only 15 mins from Alton towers. Really good value for money. Staff were all very friendly, especially the lady at breakfast who went above and beyond. Clean and tidy room. Comfortable bed.

Bathroom door (see above). Stair carpet could have been cleaner.

Room was comfortable, however, we didn't like the fact that the door into the bathroom was glazed, reducing the level of privacy. Breakfast was excellent and staff were friendly and efficient

The auto bathroom light 😞 Sit in the bath to chill and you are descended into darkness, so have to keep moving to keep light on, but try go to the bathroom for a wee and you are blinded by the light as soon as you walk in which then doesn't go off for a good 5 mins. I get why they have them but most annoying when I don't need a light for the loo trips.

Loved the welcome as soon as I walked in. Lovely cosy place. Taken up to my room with 2 single beds and a private bathroom. Everything looked clean and cosy. This pub was perfect for me literally 15 mins drive to Alton towers and 0.2 miles from the Stepping stones pub where I was meeting friends for food. I decided last minute not to have breakfast so can't comment on this, but did notice they had a good choice for cereal for you to have before they do your cooked breakfast. Thank you for a lovely stay

Loud music, lots of loud talking and repeated banging until late 2/3am after the pub closed. It felt disrespectful to the customers that paid to stay there. It was both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings so not weekends.

Breakfast was great Breakfast staff were wonderful, evening bar staff were super friendly.

Bathroom had no window, pillows were a bit too soft my partner struggled to sleep. The bunny rabbit looked like it needed fresh hay and water. The poached eggs were undercooked.

    Good service on check in

Not much really. Each night is different. Our first night was noisy downstairs but they do say some nights louder than others on their website.

Felt welcome the moment we walked in, locals all very friendly and a certainly would book again. Food was great with a nice varied menu. 👍

Nothing here that would stop me from coming back next time we go to Alton Towers, actually we would try to book here, and we would definitely recommend it. Small things: no hooks in bathroom to hang towels or clothes. The motion sensor on the bathroom light with a glass-door is annoying at night (we like total darkness) until it turns off itself. The mattress was not very comfortable for us, but that is a personal taste because we like them very hard and firm.

Thursday night Burger night: amazing value for money. The Full English breakfast was well cooked and very generous portions. Room had all we needed, well equipped, super clean and all in working order. The shower was spectacular, easy to regulate temperature and powerful enough. Staff super friendly, helpful and flexible with everything. Plenty of parking.
