There were very minor points where a bit more detail could of been spent on room cleanliness. It was of a good standard but it just felt a little dusty in the corners.

Lovely old place, great atmosphere. Staff were fantastic and very accommodating of our late arrival.

The bathroom was an odd shape which made showering a bit awkward, Plus the bathroom could do with an upgrade`

Old, slumping mattress gave us backache. Breakfast very poor for the price. Tiny continental selection. Instant coffee (£3 for fresh coffee). Small cooked breakfast. Menu full of misspellings

A hotel full of history and with a decent bar and we had a good room although bathroom cramped but this reflects difficulties of squeezing in a bathroom in the confines of a listed building

First day small things weren’t right; light in wardrobe didn’t work, bathroom shaver light didn’t work, toaster was broken first morning, no spoons at breakfast, no glasses in room for drinks or bathroom. Didn’t like the fact that we had to pay upfront AND leave our card details! Why?

    Peaceful Parking good Wi fi

Would not use the lodge rooms, as the beds were always very uncomfortable 😬

Can't believe the difference. We stopped going to the Scole due to very poor service, unorganised, etc. However, new staff are brilliant, so glad we gave it another go on recommendation 👍 😀

More staff a breakfast time. The staff were attentive but had too much to do.

We had a problem with our room but the problem was sorted out for us. A lovely building with interesting rooms. Not far from Diss which is worth visiting and on the Angles Way a long distance path.

The awful decor downstairs, it’s been ruined by tacky plastic ivy on the lights, the bar has been gutted & they removed the atmosphere with the character.

The ambience upstairs in the rooms.

Double bed, too small. Most hotels offer king size and we didn’t realise when we booked. Room very warm (radiator on in bathroom all night, no fan in room (although we didn’t ask for one). No shampoo or conditioner in shower ( bottle by sink labelled as this but it was soap) TV didn’t work, couldn’t get reception on it

Close to family so we could walk

We were only offered instant coffee with breakfast, perhaps a Nespresso or similar coffee machine could be installed?

Amazing grade 1 listed 17th century coaching Inn. Lovely room with period features , reached by two flights of a stunning wide 17th century staircase.....wide enough presumably for ladies wearing hooped skirts.... King Charles the second stayed there. It is mentioned in one of Charles Dickens Novels. Good pub food in the evening.with generous helpings. Good freshly prepared breakfast Friendly and helpful staff

The food wasn’t quite up to scratch but I’m guessing there was some staffing issues.

Loved character of the old building. We had a good sized lovely room including a 4-poster bed.
