There was no plug or wire to the coffee machine. Access instructions were only sent a couple of hours before and reception with my phone hadn't picked it up in those 2 hours, so we had a job finding the place until we received them. There is a sign outside saying The Shire coming soon, which was disconcerting. Sending the instructions the day before would be helpful. We also missed their free car park because we arrived earlier, without the message.

The floor tiles on the bathroom need to be grouted. There was no bin! You enter through a night club! And there is nothing to stop others from coming in to the apartments. We didn’t have a key for our room and tried to call and message and no one got back to us. The bedding wasn’t ironed! And the tea bags were not in a packet and the tea tasted horrid.

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

Couldn't find parking , total night mare to find it, you end up driving through a garage full of taxis , wouldn't stay there again , it's like trying to sleep above a nightclub , the whole room was bouncing and we were on the top floor, milk was off, so couldn't even make a cuppa in the morning, never seen any staff about , honestly, I would not recommend this place at all .

The property from the outside is not very well advertised and is very dark inside. Our room was clean the duvet cover was creased and there was no Vallance in the bed. One plug socket was broken. We had no key for our door and had to wait hours for it. The bar closed at 7 am as they have a function room at the side which they use for private functions and the music is blaring until 11.30pm. They do not state this in the description.

We couldn’t locate it even though the sat nav was saying you are right by it. The lack of signage and communication before was a joke. We only had the text half hour after the booking in time and only then did it explain exactly where and how to get in and what room we were in. The staff personnel who were supposed to be there to explain everything were non existent. The heating in the room we couldn’t get to work. No remote for for the tv or box. The bedside lamps wouldn’t work. There was no hair drier or no full length mirror in the room. No coat hangers whatsoever in the wardrobe and only one little carton of milk to last a day. Overall it will be a nice hotel when it is properly up and running. It’s just opened much to soon because the management are not on top of anything.

The location was brilliant the parking was good and free but I only found it by accident when I spoke to a person who answered me when I shouted to see if there were any staff present which there wasn’t.

There was no breakfast. Check in was via the bar. Due to it being a Saturday night the bar next door was blaring ABBA music and then other stuff until 1030pm which was so loud we felt as if it was playing in the room with us, impossible to try to fall asleep to and caused the whole room to vibrate. There were a few partly used travel shampoo bottles in the bathroom but no hand soap. The room was clean and the bed soft but the loud music was horrible and no warning of this or ANY sound-proofing.

There was no carpark as advertised (well there was a space but full of old taxis!), the only staff member was a barmaid who was lovely but couldnt really help as she was working the bar, there was tea and coffee in the room but no kettle, the coffee machine was unuseable as it had no cable to plug it in so purly decorative! There are only 4 little bottles of shampoo in the shower, no soap shower gel, no hairdryer! The veiw from the window, what can i say! Bins pigeons fag ends had to shut the blind couldnt shut the curtains as there was a pole with nothing on it we used it to hang clothes on as no hanging space either! We had to fix the tv ourselves as the end of the cable all bent! Also no instructions of how to get in or out if the bar hadnt still been open when we came back we would have slept in the car! Then dawned on us in the morning if the bar was shut. How do we get out? Luckily, we found a door through Hush next door, but this needs to be communicated to guests. Overall, clean, good location not worth the £107 paid, would not recommend or stay again missing basic amenities!

Check in was difficult as several of my calls were not answered. The Frankwell road entrance was very dirty. No bin in the room but I improvised.

The door lock was very difficult to lock from the outside. The key just turned round and round countless times and needs fixing! It took over 5 mins to get the lock to engage! The coffee machine was blocked with 2 pods jammed inside and took 10 mins to clear! There was a safe in the room, but it was still in the box that it came in!

The room itself was fantastic, lots of room, huge bed, massive bathroom, coffee machine.

It's just some constructive critism, there was no bin anywhere to put any rubbish in, A mirror in the room some where would be good only had the bathroom one, and the extractor fan needs sorting as it stays on all the time, there was also no soap the bottle was empty, but we would without hesitation stay again There was no light in corridor outside the room so was difficult to find the key code numbers as was too dark to see

The whole thing was a complete disaster. When we arrived the front of the ‘establishment’ was shut down. Not open. Rang the number that was given for the property with no answer. Had to go and ask a local salon if the property was open and running. Finally had the manager return my call after standing outside for 30 minutes to be told to come round the side through a night club venue to get to our room. As soon as we stepped foot through the door the smell was awful, then covered with air fresheners which made it 10x worse. The room was disgusting. The bedding was dirty. I actually rang the manager to ask if we had been given the wrong room as there was no way this had been prepared for new occupants, to be told that it was our room. I asked for a hoover as the floor was disgusting, including toe nail clippings on the floor. I immediately asked to cancel my booking and for a refund, the manager ‘Michael’ said that was fine and he would sort it all. A week later, still no refund, rang Michael to ask why, told he had done it and to wait for booking.com to refund me, contacted booking.com who told me Michael hadn’t been in contact with them to arrange a refund and that they would try to contact him themselves, he has told them that I cannot have a refund so not only did I have to pay for another hotel nearby ‘Darwin’s town house’ which was AMAZING, I also didn’t get refunded for the disgusting room that I didn’t stay in. I will never use booking.com again and certainly advise you not to book this hotel.

The car park seemed a little vague. I'm still not entirely sure if we parked in the right place, and one other guest was blocked in because he had misparked by mistake. Needs more explanation. Also, the decor was a bit flat and boring..

We were told to park anywhere around the back of the building which was totally incorrect. This is a residential car park, when we came to leave a large van he had blocked us in so had to wait 2 hours. After speaking to the gentleman he said that this was a regular occurrence. Another couple were told the same information of where to park. We were in room 6, there was no key so had to leave our room unblocked. After speaking to a very pleasant guy on site regarding our concerns he said he would speak to his manager and get him to ring me but not received a call as yet.

Being on a main road it was quite noisy, but once we were asleep we slept well! We used complimentary shower gel to wash our hands, however we would have liked some anti bacterial hand soap.

The room was exceptionally clean & came with so many extras, which were a great touch! Sky TV, Netflix, bottles of water and Pepsi, coffee machine, free parking - amazing value for money! Great location, just a walk across the bridge into town. We will definitely stay again.

had to phone at door for acess, (next day found an email sent too late while where travelling on train giving an acess code ) . room 2 allocated . toilet &. bedding as left soiled by previous guest,no towels ,1 cup only,coffee machine/kettle no mains cable therefore unuseable no door key available. later moved to room 4 by caleb , good room & facilities but hot water luke warm at maximum & heating not working. almost all electric sockets/switches were loose & door levers loose bezels . ALL VERY BADLY MANAGED.

- May be a positive to some; we never saw a soul, no staff at all, but did get a call back when I rang the number and staff member was helpful. - No TV or Sky remote in room. Managed to turn TV on and use Sky box manually but couldn’t change volume as TV didn’t seem to have any manual buttons at all. - Parking is not clear, spaces all marked as reserved, a resident we asked said I wasn’t the first person to ask him the same thing. Rang number and staff member assured me we could park anywhere but someone did move us on from the first space we took saying it was their’s so we left the car slightly uneasily. Really needs to be signposted/marked bays. But the parking IS right round the back, it’s free, and is convenient. - I emailed around a week before our stay; the address on their website bounced back so I used booking.com’s message system but I never received a reply. - Nit picking but they gave us two spoons and only one bowl, lol. Because of previous mixed reviews we were taking a punt with them because the location was so much better than anywhere else and after no reply to my message I was a little uneasy. All in all though we were really glad we did. You won’t get a better location for going out in Shrewsbury and it’s a stay we’ll remember far more than if we’d gone for a travel lodge.

- Location is brilliant for town centre, when there was a queue for the toilets at the venue we were at I was tempted to nip back to the hotel it was that close! - Ease/privacy to come and go as you need, presumably at any hour. - Room and bathroom were spotless. - Very unique experience to let yourself into an empty bar, themed for Mamma Mia(!). Shame it wasn’t open while we were there. Very trusting, fairly sure we could of helped ourselves to drinks! - Very warm room on coldest day of the year, with thermostat you could change if necessary (we had to turn it down a little).
