The entrance to Sleepwell is unattractive and next to a bin area. Our room was not cleaned/missed on one day and the TV remote did not work. only one cup and saucer for a twin room. Would have preferred to be in the main hotel.

breakfast was really good. Decor in the room was very good and clean. parking in the designated parking was safe and close to Sleepwell Inn. Reception staff were helpful. Food in the restaurant was good.

Only gripe was that the heating was on a bit too strongly so despite opening the window the room was too hot, but we did stay in a spell of especially good weather where it was more than 20 degrees in the day.

Room is good value with all the expected facilities. Really nice bonus that for £10 extra you can use the facilities for the hotel across the road, including sauna, large swimming pool, jacuzzi and gym. Breakfast was good, fairly priced and well worth it. Location is right in the town if you want to go to any bars or restaurants.

I had some trouble with the access card when I first arrived which reception sorted but I had to walk from one building to the next a few times. also one of my bins wasn’t emptied when the room was clean and it was still full when I returned to the room.

property was really good location and was tidy and clean inside.

I walked into the sleepwell and it smelled of damp. then the room reminded me of a homeless bedsit. staff where great and moved me to the main hotel the Washington. then the water in the shower barely came out so I was moved again. I’m thankful for the staff for being understanding. The room I was first in was in the roof so was quite strange then the new room had a window but it opened into a dark space with a vent. was quite creepy. the room was extremely warm. like super warm. they provide a fan in the room and I needed that on facing me the full time.

I loved the pool and jacuzzi. tbh it was really good . the staff where great. run off their feet. really need more staff.

Literally on yourself sharing an iron with the kids whole building it’s a side building on the corner of a busy road if you go in summer (after covid) forget it your next to 3 busy late bar / nightclubs you’ll never sleep even in the host Washington hotel which is further away and more money, if you go out of season it’s a banger I imagine

Literally on yourself its a corner building on a busy road out of season or Covid ( when I went ) it’s relatively not that noisy if you get skinned up else don’t expect to sleep

We had booked two rooms, one was ideal but the other was constantly warm at night as couldn’t keep the window open due to the generator outside. Even after asking only got one towel set for that room too which wasn’t ideal but as we were purely using the hotel as a base it wasn’t too much of an issue.

Central location, free secure parking, easy route in and out of town. Nice pool and facilities. Very friendly staff.

Easy base for going to the lakes, lovely staff, decent accommodation and food. Good for families.

It was very hot and the windows were tiny so it was hard to get enough ventilation into the room. The radiator was on when we arrived, though we did switch them off. However, there was a portable fan/heater which helped to cool the room. Worth noting there is no fridge, bottled water, extra soap, shower caps, safe or stand for the suitcases. Some of the equipment eg the kettle and the hairdryer were old and tired looking. For young families, do note that there is no lift up to the first floor where half the bedrooms are, so if you've got buggies and lots of luggage - check you get a bedroom on the ground floor. The food is provided by their sister hotel, which is up the road, so you will need to leave the Sleepwell every day to get food. The breakfast buffet was fine but could have done with a bit more variety - we were there for a week so it was exactly the same food every day. Other 4 star hotels I've been to has put out different pastries, different eggs, a change of cereals, yoghurts and fruit. One more thing, Workington's restaurants are generally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays so be prepared to go to Whitehaven (I'm told there are nice food places and bars) or go to Keswick where there are many places to eat. Booking is advised, however.

I liked the size of the room, good sized wardrobe with drawers and hanging space. We liked the cleanliness of the room, the bedding, wardrobe space and the bathroom. The shower had decent amount of strength and set above the bathtub. The staff were lovely. It is worth noting, for families, the Sleepwell appeared to have a few connecting rooms. Ideal if you are travelling with children or teens. The food was excellent in the upstairs restaurant, something for everyone, from lamb or steak to lasagne or fish and chips. Remember to book, however.

Although part of the Washington the inn is a small annex of rooms about 4 min away. The rooms are a bit airless as they only have one small window. There are some big rooms but one of ours was really a single. Its in the centre of Workington and so on Friday Saturday was a bit noisy. I use earplugs anyway so was mostly OK.

First the staff are excellent. Especially shout out to Emily and Hannah who went above and beyond. More than made up for the few hiccups. We loved the location as it separate from the full on crowds around the lakes ( like Keswick) but is a fantastic base to explore Lake and coast. We even went to Hadrians wall the closest part is about 45 min away. Great parking and full range of shops 5 min away. We had a fantastic time and for breakfast and pool you can use the hotel facilities and restaurant which are v good.
