Absolutely nothing to not like here, apart from being a little hard to find.

We had true Scottish weather when arriving, which promptly caused us to miss the sign for the Smithy House and drive too far. We were greeted by the owner with such kindness and we truly enjoyed our stay in the cottage despite the weather. It's a beautifully transformed old barn and was very comfortable, with a nice view of the landscape with grazing sheep. The kitchen is well equipped, so we were able to cook a warm dinner. Just wish we could have stayed a bit longer. The area is just beautiful.

Very nice cottage with everything you need for a splendid holiday. There is a very cosy living room with a wood stove, which is perfect for relaxing and reading after a long day of exploring this beautiful area. Paul was the most welcoming host and surprised us with chocolates and prosecco as a welcome gift. He also helped me a lot giving information about the best hikes in the area. We would love to go back for a longer period!

The accommodation included a well-equipped kitchen. This is self-catering accommodation which we were aware of at the time of booking. Our host Paul met us on arrival and was very helpful. We appreciated the availability of a washing machine which was helpful after being on the road for about a week.

The cottage was fantastic and had so much character. Loved the wood burning stove. Paul was brilliant with updates and communications. Any questions/queries I had he promptly answered them.

My friend missed the tv as there wasn't one at the cottage but I enjoyed not having one for a change

the location was rural which was good but had to drive about 3 or 4 miles for food as there was none on offer either in the evening or morning but overall it was a great place to stay for the peace and quiet

Perfect location for NC500 goers. Couldn’t have asked for any more from Paul and his cottage. Although we weren’t there long, the stay was perfect and we would definitely return when in this part of Scotland!

It was blowing a gale and the door is draughty....maybe add an internal curtain and/or insulation!!

Great location for Lochinver and visiting Assynt. Well appointed cottage with lots of cosy touches and ideal for a short stay.

Everything about the accommodation was great. Try to time your drive in (we came and left to the south) to avoid camper vans on the single track.

Wonderful cozy accommodation with kitchen to heat up Lochiver Larder pies and a wood burning stove to take the chill off. Really appreciated the fire being laid and ready to light. Quiet and peaceful with good views.
