Nothing. Could not fault the ‘Packet’. My room, 7, was perfect for me.

The Steam Packet is Fab-u-Lous. Great location, great staff, great breakfast, great conservatory for fabulous evening meal.

Dinner service was not good. We waited over half an hour for someone to acknowledge that we were sitting there as we didnt realise we had to go to the bar and confirm we were there - even though the staff could see us. Stale bread rolls on the first night, battered fish where the batter wasnt cooked properly and almost raw underneath (the actual top of the fish) However, the fish inside was lovely. The second night, they gave me stewing steak for best quality steak that was raw and couldnt be cut even with a steak knife the size that I have never seen before. In fairness they did give me a new dinner with a beautiful piece of meat, but even a novice knows that stewing steak isnt rump or sirloin steak. Not at all impressed with either the service at dinner or the food. We were a little stumped because of where is was to find somewhere else to eat on the second night otherwise we would have eaten elsewhere.

The room was lovely - right at the front of the hotel with views over the Harbour From all our trips to different hotels this time the breakfast was by far the absolute best. Great service, lovely friendly staff, fabulously cooked breakfast. I would be more than happy to recommend for their breakfast alone. The hotel staff in the bar and reception were also lovely and friendly and helpful.

    Nothing I can think of.

Breakfast and food in general were superb. The evening meals were both excellent with some very interesting twists. Its position by the harbour made it very special and it always had a good buzz .

Our room was functional if a little tired. It was however very clean. I think the harbour view rooms are much nicer. In fairness I knew beforehand that we weren’t getting a harbour view room so I’ve no complaints at all.

That I only had one day there. I wish I could have stayed for longer.

The staff could not do enough for me as a sole traveller, even helping with my rescue dog who needed a little understanding. Absolutely amazing. The breakfast was the best I had ever seen. I cannot fault this Inn.

What an idyllic location! The huge picture window provided a fantastic view of the harbour and village. The room was spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was delicious. The breakfast the following morning was one of the best we had had throughout our trip!

    Nothing.

All the staff were warm, kind and friendly. As for the restaurant, we hadn't expected such a varied menu, so creatively cooked. - and were impressed that the main ingredients are locally sourced. Everything was absolutely delicious. The location of the Inn is really lovely. There is such a peaceful atmosphere right down at the harbour, with the tide washing in and out and the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. It is a short walk from the Inn to the headland past St Ninian's Chapel where wild flowers were in bloom. We really loved our stay. Thank you, Steam Packet Inn
