How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The shower could have been a little more powerful but London is a hard water area so this is a challenge and the shower was still good. Shower amenities are now Rituals. Unfortunately, the shampoo and conditioner were not very good and there wasn't any body moisturiser which you would usually expect available when toiletries are advertised as included. But these are small points and didn't detract from my stay.
Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff in reception and in the bar and restaurant areas. Nice lounge/lobby area, good drinks, nice food and welcoming space to relax or work in. Comfortable and well laid out rooms. Close to Stratford station and Westfield shopping centre. This was a return visit as an overnight treat as I live locally and I would definitely stay again.

I wish they had a price list for items in the wardrobe and mini bar.

Breakfast disappointed. £20 big breakfast allows access to buffet and a main course - buffet had no healthy cereal options (no muesli or Granola or prepared fruit). Decaf coffee took ages to arrive - when it did it was served Luke warm in a small cup. Quality of cooked breakfast not great.
Lovely clean modern building. Absolutely sound proof which is great as next to railway line. Staff friendly. Room adequately accessorized though no thought for placing mirror near chair for make up purposes. Nice shower and good to be trusted with bath products, though lacked body lotion and flannels.

Big extra deposit up front to cover potential use of mini-bar/snacks/room service - £100 for a weekend on top of the room. Very quick to charge for all snacks/mini-bar items even if you are a regular visitor. No loyalty program.
Clean, looks good, comfy rooms, ability to upgrade.

A little expensive, very little storage available if staying for longer than one night. Very little complimentary offerings, only two small plastic tubs of milk for two people. No free bottled water. All a bit disappointing for the cost.

Lighting in shower room could be better for shaving.
Location close to train, bus stations and shopping mall with numerous restaurants. Quiet, comfortable room with ample storage and amenities.

It would be good if there were some drinks that came included with the room, just something simple like water, instead of having to pay seperately for the mini bar.

The only disappointment was that I was charged £40 for a kids' bed on top of the agreed price when I booked. My booking was for 2 adults and 1 kid, yet unless I paid £40 extra, the kid had to stay in the double bed. The hotel were quick to point out that the small print stated that, which is true. But I consider this to be a "gotcha" in the fine print, and not becoming of a quality hotel. I'd expect a hotel of this standard to expect a child to have its own bed, not top and tail with his parents, as standard. Even after I asked them to provide the bed complimentary as a gesture of goodwill, they refused.

The staff seemed a little rushed in the bar and at breakfast. The staff at check in were very friendly and helpful.
The room was lovely, particularly the comfort of the bed. The bathroom was also very nice.
