The room was lovely but I could see it was a little rough around the edges, nothing a lick of paint wouldn't fix and replace the window frame in room 16. The view made up for these minor issues.

Location, the food, friendly staff and the many beautiful walks direct from the hotel.

The access to the pool areas. We were told that the outdoor pool & jacuzzi wasn’t included in the room price which I don’t feel was made very clear when booking. Therefore was disappointed not to have access to it.

Lovely area. Very nice room & restaurant dining area.

Bit pricey drinks Food menu little limited, no specials. Thought staff in spa area and at breakfast could have been more engaging.

Great location Room (16) probably not the best but comfortable and great views over lake.

    Wait times on drinks/food

The Splendid room we booked was comfortable & clean, and had a nice view overlooking the river. Spa facilities (which were included in the price) were lovely! We enjoyed the food in the hotel pub & thought it was reasonably priced.

The hotel wasn't anything special. The room that I stayed in was not worth the price I paid. It was very basic. The swimming pool does not stay open till late. The breakfast wasn't great, the full English breakfast that hubby and I had wasn't enough. I felt as if everything was limited . I wouldn't stay at this hotel again !

The location was fantastic and peaceful. Windermere was only about 20 minutes away from the hotel, and the drive to it was beautiful.

The food was quite ordinary for the prices in the brasserie. They were graceful enough to remove the rack of lamb from the bill without quibble as it was very sinues, fatty, and difficult to cut and chew. My wild mushroom pasta was good. The belly pork starter and cheesecake dessert were really good. The shower head was broken in our room, which meant we couldn't alter the height, but other than that, the room was clean and comfortable with the best towels ever.

Location is beautiful, and Cumbria Wildlife Trust nature reserve close by. 10 mins from Grange over Sands, which is lovely to get away from the hustle and bustle of Windermere. The hotel pool, gym, jacuzzi, and steam room are in with the room price, as is breakfast, which was great. To spend time in the actual spa facilities is extra per person. We stayed one night and got free parking for the day of arrival and the next day, which was great as the parking prices were very expensive 🙃

Booked a ‘fabulous room’ but upon arrival I was very was disappointed with the dark brown drab & outdated décor & furniture. It was nothing like the photos I’d seen online. We loved the hotel & the decor was quirky & fabulous in all the main areas but it’s now looking tired & worn & in need of a re-fresh.

Lovely location, very picturesque. Quirky decor. Spa access was fabulous. Comfortable bed.

We pub dined and wait on food was extremely long and when we got our food it was slightly underwhelming. Not worth the money you pay on food unfortunately. However the staff were great and working very hard.

No table near the wardrobes for the using of tea and coffee facilities. Personally prefer table cloths in the restaurant and carpeted floor in the bedroom (though my wife liked it)

Evening meals, especially the deserts were excellent. Breakfasts times allowed plenty of flexibility. The bed was also very comfortable. Bottle of water in the bedroom renewed each day.

The wood fired pizza van wasn’t operating on our Friday evening stay which was disappointing. The bath wasn’t super clean and the plug etc was filthy (although not to off out staying here)

The property was well placed, on a river for which we had a lake view which was lovely. Spa facility was really nice although almost cost as much as proper, don’t really think it was worth £50pp at all unless treatments already included

The room was ok, however had a strange smell and the bathroom could have been cleaner. The food was also not up to standards expected for the price. We ordered a steak that came on a freezing cold plate so the food went cold very fast and scallops that weren’t done properly however this was taken off the bill.

Great location, beautifully decorated and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The swimming pool and spa were smaller than I expected. I would expect something bigger and better for a Spa hotel. We also paid extra £10 per night to stay in a room with a river view but windows were quite small and didn’t make any difference.

The location is good. The dinner was delicious at the restaurant. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is good.

Additional costs e.g. coffees at breakfast such as a cappuccino were an additional charge. I understand charging a bit more for the Holte Spa but £40 each for 2 hours seems pretty expensive, especially when you're already a paying guest of the hotel.

Room was great and really spacious! Great location and every staff member was lovely and polite! We were here for my husband's birthday and there were lots of little touches from them that made it feel special. Definitely recommend it for a stay in the Lake District.
