Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA large party was booked in and we had the room above the area of where they was. It was noisy, you couldn’t just sit in a cosy pub and relax due to the kids screaming. They seemed to dominate the pub.
Continental breakfast included in stay which was better than we expected. Toast, Greek yogurt with berry compote and cereal. English breakfast additional cost.

United KingdomI didn't stay longer
It was a last-minute stay for work purposes. On arrival I had a beautiful Happy welcome from the staff in the restaurant. Within 5 minutes of booking in, I was in an epic bath soaking my day of aches and pains away. The food served was fantastic. Spent the end of my day sat next an open fire. Before getting into a Super queen Super comfy bed. Ready for the day ahead of me. Would highly recommend The Swan Inn, for a stay, a great meal or even a drink 😊

United KingdomOur room (4) was directly above the kitchen so was quite noisy late and night and early in the morning. The mattress definitely needs replacing as it was sagging badly both sides with a big ridge down the middle! The included breakfast was very limited, anything cooked was extra money. We were also charged £25 for bringing a dog, which seems excessive give they don't provide anything for this. Other places we've been will provide a dog bowl, poo bags etc for less money.
Very nice old pub building, beautifully decorated with open fires. Lovely staff. Good food (albeit expensive). Very nice room for the money we paid. Extra charges for dog and most breakfast items made what would otherwise have been an exceptional stay for the money just a good one. That said, we would return.

United KingdomWe found the evening meal expensive for a family. The main courses and soft drinks were nearly as much as our one night’s accommodation. The food is delicious though.
Very comfortable beds. Very clean. The continental breakfast is superb and was included in the night’s stay.

BelgiumThere were a few stains on the carpet by one of the windows but really not that big of a deal. Only one thing that would be amazing is to add a thin other curtain to let the light in but not be seen from the streets so that the blackout curtains don’t have to be completely shut.
Everything! We loved every second of it, the food and drinks were outstanding! The bed was extremely comfortable and the lining was too die for. The bath was also so comfortable after a long cold day out it was just perfect. Not to mention the staff who was adorable and always helpful. The included breakfast was also incredible. So sad it went by so quick but cannot wait to be back :)

United KingdomOur only niggle was the bed dipped into the middle.
The staff were very friendly and attentive and made us and our dog feel very welcome. The room was absolutely stunning - we stayed in the Cygnet suite, which was huge and everything about it was beautiful. We had a fabulous cooked breakfast to see us on our way - the best eggs Benedict I've ever had! Needless to say I would totally recommend the Swan.

United KingdomI don't usually write these reviews but I'm compelled to this time. This is the best pub/accommodation/location in the Cotswolds. The staff are warm, genuine, and welcoming. A real gem of a place to stay especially if you're visiting the Diddly Squat shop or Burford.

United KingdomConsidering we stayed in brand new annex, I could hear everything going on in upstairs bedroom, zero soundproofing. No mirror in bedroom when using hairdryer.
Gorgeous traditional pub with rooms, stayed in brand new annex in the cob room that has the wow factor! Tastefully decorated with high end furnishings and gorgeous bathroom. Also had evening meal in pub that was superb, served by very friendly and helpful staff. Great continental breakfast also included in room rate. Highly recommended despite minor issues.
