There was a problem with the air con unit making strange noises, the staff tried to resolve it and when they couldn't immediately offered us another room. So not a real problem.

The room was good standard hotel room, the staff were very helpful. For the price excellent value for money

There was a little bit of confusion around the parking for the hotel, but that wasn't anyone's fault really, it was just bad timing with the market, which shut off the front of the hotel. The only other issue was trying to get served in the bar, but that was just because there seemed to be a lot of stress going around and everyone was rushing back and forth, but not actually looking after the customers.

The room was nice and clean, wasn't the biggest I had stayed in, but certainly big enough for me. Everything was clean and well presented. The food was of a decent standard

It is in the middle of town, not far from the train station, is a delightful find. Staff are great and helpful.

Spoons hotels are always excellent value for money, comfy and clean. The Restaurant/pub below an added bonus. Really nice hotel receptionists.

Very comfortable room, and delighted to have hot chocolate offered as well as tea and coffee. Warmed up quickly once the heating was on. Nice and big with a sofa as well, and the bed was also comfy - albeit not with the biggest duvet.

Good selection of complimentary tea/coffee etc in room & always plenty of hot water in bathroom. Room temperature very comfortable. All communal areas well presented & clean.

The shower was hard to get working, i couldnt pull the stopper up to get the water flow to the shower. If it wasn't for my other half I am not convinced I would have got the shower to work and would have had to have a bath in the morning, not ideal if you need to wash your hair. Our room over looked the beer courtyard and it was noisy at night and in the morning. We were on the 1st floor directly above the bar and could hear the noisy from below. If on a higher level I am sure it would be less noise.

The staff were friendly,.door men welcoming in the evening. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room and a couple of bottles of water which were a good addition to the room. The shower was powerful once we got it working. Room was nice and warm. Obviously nice and convenient for food and drinks. Breakfast was good, hot and just what you would expect of a spoons 🙂

Room was a good size, bed was comfy but bathroom a bit dated. My breakfast was good value but my wife had a bacon muffin instead of the bacon butty I ordered.

Shower took a while to warm up and was pretty tame. Bathroom looked a little ragged in general. I’ve had better Spoons breakfasts.

Staff very welcoming, both at check-in and the bar. Bed was comfortable. TV a good size and picture quality.

I booked a twin which happened to be in the annex but was offered a double on the day in the main hotel which was great as it was late and I was on my own. Unfortunately there had been some maintenance in the room so the curtains had been taken down, there were tools in the room and paint in the bathroom. I think it was a genuine mistake as they swapped the room but I checked in at 12pm so was far too tired to go back to reception. The room had obviously been cleaned beforehand and the amenities were great (tea coffee etc)
